IM replacing my transmission case half MT. pics inside. calling all pros

as some of you know ive broken my MT case half where the mounts go into.
since repairing it at a dealer or having someone repair it for me will cost more than a new tranny ive decided to tackle the project on my own.

now im completely niave to transmission rebuilds but not to engine rebuilds or mechanics.

below are the snippets of alldatapro that i intent on using. if any of you have experience with this please chime in. (NVA,OPEL,IHC and the many techs we have on the site im counting on you)

There is some very important stuff you are missing.....

Since you are REPLACING the case 1/2 you need to look up the differential pre load setting procedure as well as shimming the main shaft, if these are out you will not have a happy time.

Pretty much, you may want to take a real hard look at your diff bearings while it is apart, almost evey one of these I have taken apart has had really rough diff bearings that are only like $22 ea.

There is a chance, but I would test it, not doing so and the preload not being right would be very bad for the diff bearings and /or the case.

x2, better safe then , with having to pull the whole transmission back apart

special tools; at least snap-ring pliers, other tools i will check,
but what year was the tranny again (cause there may be minor differences between specs and such)

also just take your time and don't rush it, and also bag all the bolts and such, so that you can remember where they all go again (pictures also help too)

^ BTW, the ONLY difference between that tranny and a 7th gen AV6 6SPD is the LSD diff.

finished my tranny yesterday. cars running today. runs and goes well. shimmed the diff and shaved down a notch on the outside of the tranny case under my shift linkage. now my shifts are super smooth.
