So my car recently got stolen and I just got it back yesterday . I don’t got the keys what am I suppose too do ????? . I was thinking on buying a remote start kit that comes with a push start , I seen that it goes into where the stock ignition is at which I think looks very nice . Do you think the kit would work ?? They are on eBay for about hundred bucks. And by the way my steering wheel is lock right now . How do I get that too unlock?? Please help

Sorry to hear that - if the police (or you) found the person that did it, honestly, trying to get the key back from them would be the easiest option....assuming they cooperate.

You will not be able to use a remote start kit, as you no longer have the original programmed fob to start the car. As for the steering wheel, it unlocks when you turn the key to the ACC position, but since you obviously don't have the key, I'm not sure if there is a way to bypass this.

Otherwise, you're likely going to have to replace the locks and the ignition, with new-cut keys and reprogrammed fobs. This can all be done through a dealership, but you'll need to drag the car there, on top of the fact that it likely won't be cheap.

Independent locksmiths do the same thing, but I'm not sure how easy it is to delete the old programming, tied to the old keyset in the ECU, then replace it. Hopefully someone else can chime in here with an option besides taking it to a dealer.

You should be able to get a new key cut for your car based off the VIN (assuming nothing has been swapped since the car was new) from the dealer and programmed (will require proof of ownership and the car to be there for programming), but like said above that won't be cheap, but assuming nothing is damaged that would be the easiest way to get the car on the road. The dealer can also wipe old keys/fobs from the car when programming the new ones. You can also get used fobs online cheap and program those yourself, but for the key that will still require a dealer. If you still had the original key you can go to locksmiths and get new ones cut and cloned/programmed.

That is assuming the OP car was stolen without it, which with the immobilizer system in these cars you either need the key or a tow truck (doesn't mean there isn't something to get around that) there are kits that disable the immobilizer, but those aren't exactly plug and play. lol

If whoever stole the car got their hands on the key they could have easily "misplaced" it before it was recovered. Not like we are dealing with a 90s honda/acura where you can just pry the door open and bypass the ignition in a couple minutes and be on your way.
