Every car has one spark plug for each cylinder. TL has 6 cylinders, therefore 6 sparkplugs.
And yes it was a stupid question

I seem to recall a Nissan engine that had two plugs per cylinder.

From Edmunds Inside Line's Dyno of the F-150 Raptor 6.2L:
"a measure made necessary by the large-diameters cylinder bores -- large combustion chambers burn their contents more slowly than compact chambers"

Even my old GN uses the waste spark method of firing each plug on power and on exhaust. It fires backwards on the exhaust stroke (outer to center).
In my case it wasn't for emissions, just what happens with one coil for two cylinders.

I have 28 in my garage, 12 in the 760, 6 in the TL, 6 in the MDX and 4 in the accord Good luck with whatever you do decide to do! FYI if you are changing the plugs, USE ONLY THE NGK Iridiums! Don't go with denso!

Are you sure they have two plugs or do you mean the waste spark method with a single plug?

The Mazda rotary has 2 plugs per housing that fire 20 degrees apart (leading and trailing) to better burn the mixture, but the leading plug also has a wasted spark as both leading plugs fire at the same time in housing 1 & 2 while only the trailing plugs fire when needed on compression. At least one can't mix up the leading plug wires.
