I finally got a used Type-S trunk lip that i want to install on my Base 2007 TL.
I don't want to drill holes and all, so i'm sure some of you used a 3M double sided tape to install this.
Can you please share some instructions or tips based on your experience?
From what i saw, the inner flat surface of the spoiler will not fall flush with the trunk, so i am wondering how/where you applied the tape?
^agree 100%. It might stick for a while but will come off due to weight. Also since you wacked off those bolts can you replace them to install? The tape they use is just to make sure edges stay flush and to limit water from going underneath and ponding.
Inlew of clips and nuts in this situation you can glue the lip down with polyurethane structural adhesive. Just put a dab at the front corners and a bead across the entire lip at the mounting hole areas as marked by you in the pic.
Follow manufacturers curing time to ensure full adhesive strength before removing the masking tape that you will use to hold the lip in place while the adhesive is setting.
Clean off any adhesive that's oozed out from the lip with automotive tar remover.
Be sure to use 3M double side tape for the edges where applicable.
I installed my Type-S spoiler a few months ago, with only 3M tape.
I just put the tape where the old tape (which sucked to remove) was.
Ah nice, thanks for highlighting it. So is the spoiler flush with the trunk using this method? Also, I was under the impression that whats there was the gaskets to avoid water going inside?

If by flush you mean there's no edge from the spoiler to the trunk lid, no it won't be flush. Due to the thickness of the 3M tape there's probably less than a mm, but that's really negligible.
If I remember correctly, the OEM double sided tape was super thin compared to the 3M tape I bought, but that's okay because Acura used bolts and bolts in addition to the double sided tape.
There are no gaskets on the spoiler; the tape itself kinda acts as a gasket to *prevent* water from going inside.

I use a pressure washer to clean the car weekly and I spray the trunk/spoiler as hard as any other section of the car. It is not going anywhere--that was a New England winter and seven months ago. In short, I think the tape is an easy, low cost solution.

The tape was applied slightly inside the entire front and rear span of the spoiler. You cannot see the tape and the spoiler appears flush to the truck lid. As I mentioned, I don't envision this coming off in the near term.
