How hard is it to put j37 into 3rd gen '07 TL type S
My engine has close to 200 k miles and the head has been tapped... Just looking to replace the engine but just wanted to know how hard would it be to put a j37 instead of the j35 it comes with?

anything can be done at a shop....
anything can be done at a dealership...just depends on how much you want to pay... a mechanic will take off the heads.. and inspect the heads and valves. then either replace the valves or machine the head...then put it right back on |
Thanks man I really appreciate it

Direct bolt on. Depending if which j37 you use, different things need to be done.

Are you auto or 6 speed currently?

My car is a 6speed tl type s. And yes the j37 bolts right up to an auto and manual 07 acura tl type s. Im currently using a j37a1 short block from 07-09 mdx. 2010 mdx j37a1 alil different but still bolts on to our trannys. My j37a1 from 07-09 mdx had bad headgasket. Warped heads so we ending up using the original j35a8 type s head on the j37a1 short block.
