How do you reset the oil life indicator
Had my oil changed at Walmart (much closer and cheaper than the dealership). However, the oil life indicator on the dash display still says oil life < 10%. How do I reset this or is it something the requires a dealers touch?
Thanks.
Thanks.

The procedure on page 196 of the manual is incorrect. In paragraph 3a of the manual, the requirement to hold the button for 10 seconds the second time it is pressed is omitted. If this is not done, the display will not reset.
Here’s the full procedure to reset the MID display.
1. Turn the ignition switch to ON
2. Select Trip A or Trip B (You can use either one, so if you are using one to record data for something, use the other one to reset the Oil Life Indicator).
3. Press the < or > button repeatedly until the oil life is displayed.
4. Press and hold the Select/Reset button for 10 seconds. The Multi-Information Display will ask for a confirmation.
a. If you are sure you want to reset the display, press the Select/Reset button for 10 seconds again. (This is the part omitted from the manual.)
b. If you do not want to reset the display, press the < or > button to select “Cancel”
And welcome to the forum, "noob"

Thanks Ron A, I'm also relatively new to Acurazine. I did not know how to reset the oil indicater. Do you know of a zine for Honda Pilot's. I purchased a new TL last year for me and a new Honda Pilot for my wife. I do the Pilot's normal maintenance service at my Acura dealer. It's closer and easier to setup an appointment. However, they don't know how to reset the Pilot's reminder.

Wait until the butt prints start to show - there will be opportunity for another 20,000 posts!
I am all for helping Newbies, but also believe in tough love.
I say RTFM because I want people I share the road with to know as much about their cars as they can. Example: I nearly plowed into a driver the other day who was stopped in the middle of the road. Why? Because his engine had died, and he "did not know that he could start it in Neutral". Why? Because he did not RTFM!!!!!!
Oh, before thou headest for thy Enter key, wouldst be that thy knoweth that this car did not have a brake interlock system - so it did no need to be stopped with a foot on the brake to turn the starter.

My wife has a '06 Honda Pilot and I have the '08 TLS. The Pilot web site is www.Piloteers.org.

Hmmmm. Should work, I'd think. Have you held the "reset" button long enough? Takes about 10 seconds or something, iirc.
