How do I remove headlights to install Angel/Demon Eyes?3G Garage #E079

Hi All,

I know there are quite a few people on this forum that are interested in the angel/demon eyes for our TL's, so I have decided to mail Umnitza my headlights so they could work on them.

I know that there are many people who consider this to be "ricey" and that's completely understandable but I think it will be a great mod...

However, in order for me to proceed with this, I need help from someone regarding the removal of headlights from my TL.

If anyone has the instructions on how to remove the headlights (right and left), then please post them or send me a PM...

Also, it would be great if you could also post the installation of the headlights (so once I get them back from Umnitza, I will not have a problem installing it)

I thank everyone for their support and hopefully this should be an exciting mod!!!

Also, if someone could please help me find a close-up picture of a headlight so that way I could send it to umnitza and have them do a photoshop to let us know where the halo ring would be placed...

I don't have my car with me at the moment so I can't do this myself, and I'm constantly searching the website to find a close-up picture of the headlights but the pictures are not that great...so I would really appreciate it if someone could please take a picture of their headlights and post it...a closeup picture please...

thanks, in advance..

Jinen,

Thanks for stepping up and giving your headlights to them. I was wondering about this last week, and wondered what happened. I'll get a headlight pic shortly... bear with me..

Try searching. There are tons of posts regarding removal of the headlights including how to seperate the lights to do work yourself. Its not going to be related to Angel Eyees, but Amber Lense removal for "Clear Corners"

Basically in the 04 TL, you gotta pull the front bumper and supposedly on one side unbolt half of the battery bracket and then you can remove the lights.

cTLgo, thanks a lot for the pictures...I'll definitely send the first picture to umnitza for a photoshop of the angel/demon eyes...

also, would it be possible to take a picture of the headlight by being right in front of it? (just incase if they want that picture)

the picture that you have posted takes it from an angle so i was just wondering if we could have a picture that is dead-center of the lights...

i searched for angel eyes and demon eyes, but i'll search for clearing headlights, maybe that should give more responses..

thanks, in advance...

What do you guys recommend?

1) Getting rings on the projector lights only?
2) Getting rings on the "fog lights" only?
3) Getting rings on both the projector and fog lights?

Looking at the headlight carefully, I think it might look better with the rings around the projector lights only...the reason being is that the "fog lights" aren't circular so having an unusual shape for those rings might look a bit weird...in the bmw's, their highs' and lows' are circular so it goes really well, but with our TL's, I think it may be best to just get the rings around the projectors...

opinions???

I have sent the photos to umnitza and they are going to use photoshop and just give us a rough draft of where the rings would go...

They said that they would work on that tonight and most likely get back to me by tomorrow...

Once I have the pictures, I will post them and then we can decide what to do from that point onwards...(I will also create a poll tomorrow to get people's opinions on the placement of the rings)

i will double that!!! he he he.... the projector provides both low and high beams, a flap raises and expands the projectors range when you turn the beams on....

i too would only like it around the projector, as the fogs arent round

My opinion? Just around the projector is good. Here is one more pic of a headlight closeup if you still need.

The fogs are the one's closest to the grill of the car. (i.e. if you were looking in the pic above this post, the light on the right side is the fog light. The light with the silver ring around it is the low/high beam.

is it the shape or something else? and what exactly is the change to the tl lights going to look like?

bmw headlights have unique rings around the light. kind of like parking lights, but they light up in circle around the projector and looks really mean at night
