Honda/Acura clip removal tool
Tired of breaking those 2 dollar clips with a screwdriver???
Here is a tool Honda and Acura dealerships sell. This is their newest design and became available fall of last year. It can be ordered by the public through them.
Part number:
07AAC-001A100
The date stamp on the one I have is 08/11
I was at Honda BSing with the service manager when the local dealer received theirs and asked if I could order one. He said he didn't see why not.
When I first ordered this it was on backorder because some of the other dealers hadn't received theirs yet and took about 3 weeks to come in.
Anyway hope this helps some out, especially if you pull your bumper alot or for many other panels.
Enjoy!

$40? I'll stick to my flathead screwdriver.
Never had any problems breaking the clips and I can pull tabs in seconds =)
Nice find though! Bet it would be useful to some.

I have a couple honda's and work on several others so this was a no brainer for me. The big end pulls a different clip style as well.
I have spent over 50.00 in clips in last couple years because I hate not putting them back in and with newer car designs utilizing even more clips this should pay for itself over time.
But to each his own I did the screwdriver method for a long time and when its cold they always broke.

We have one in the tool room. The end of the handle, you could use that to pull off some of those caps in the interior roof handles on some of the newer cars.
It's a nice tool but it's not spring loaded so I use my HF clip tool.

If you shop around you can get it for less than $40. Here's the bulletin:

I also have a tool for removing floorboard trim/crown molding that has a bent shaft so that you can leverage the piece out. The tip is beveled and slips under the plastic clips easily. I tried it out tonight. Works well on the clips attached to the trunk liner, but I wouldn't want to push on it on clips attached to painted surfaces.
