Nice Pics dude and just want to know which one you prefer. I mean it looks like the 10000k looks alot bluier than the 6000k bulb. Since you have both, which one can you see better with and which one do you use for your daily driving???

IMO, I like the 10000K better cause I wanted that bluish hue to it. And I use it as my daily driving.

The only way is to adjust your headlights a bit should do the trick!!!! Just make sure you don't blind the other side of the road and you will be fine.

I am going my sell my 10000k bulbs that I have in my 04 TL.
In the black market. They look VERY VERY blue but don't give off enough light.
They are a week old from Autolamps GE 10000K Xenon Discharge D2S 12 volt 35 watt. See the black market

Quick question for anyone out there. I just recieved a set of HID replacement bulbs from BlingLights.com and was sent a set of 10.000k DsR bulbs. I was wondering if this bulb is the same as the Ds2 bulb everyone refers to also in all the forums. I want make sure I got the right bulb before I put them in and try them out and notice they're the wrong bulbs. Thanks for any replies or answers.

D2S is a burner for projector headlights, D2R are for non-projector headlights. The difference is that the D2R has a black coating on top of the burner to reduce burner glare and the D2S has no coating, as the projcetor limits glare above the light beam.

TeamXRSX - does it really matter if the bulb is for a projector or a non-projector housing? Jason from BlingLights.com asured me that there is no difference other then one is made for non-projectors and the other is made for projectors. And do you know if the notches are different like knighj1 referred to. I don't want to try and change out the bulbs and find out that they don't work with the housing and don't shine the way they're suppose to shine. Thanks guys for your infos...

I purchased a set of 8000K d2s bulbs for my tl but when me and my friends were going to install them, we noticed that we needed to take the bumper off! They look amazing though on our TL projectors and the 8000k is by far the nicest color, and you wont get a ticket because they are not as blue as 10000k. I am actually trying to sell the set of bulbs i have laying around if anyone wants, just pm me or email me.

why it looks more blue or purple? different projector techology.

so can someone say exactly what kind of bulb do we need to buy (never mind the Ks). What is the exact part number, and where can you buy them.
In my old BMW I had 6000K and they were perfect. And they were made by Phillips, so I knew that the quality was going to be good, vs. all those Ebay types. So... could someone tell me, what kind (brand, type, model) and where... Thanks

I can't be bothered to read the whole thread.
Here's what I can tell everyone:
All OEM HIDs are 4100-4300K. NO car manufacturer uses 6000K. The only decent bulbs are ~4300K ones and the 6000K ones, because Philips also makes the 6000K ones. Make sure you don't get the dyed bulbs - they are rip-offs.
Halogen light gives you the best visibility in the rain and foul weather. HIDs actually seem to light the road less well in the rain, and the higher colour temp you get, the worse rain vision will get.
I have 6000K Philips bulbs in my 1990 325iS, fitted into european projectors. The light is an intense, pure white, and I am very happy with them.
I used to want 9000K, but people told me they were lower quality, and I realized they are a bit ricer as well.
Blue light is very taxing to the eyes and will make you tired quickly when driving at night. Don't go above 6000K.

I have 8000k D2S replacement bulbs in my 05 TL and I'm very pleased even though my headlights are pretty cloudy. Sorry no pics until I get my headlights wet sanded/ buffed that way you'll have a clear image of what they should look like with clean headlights.

HOLY THREAD REVIVAL! Really?? All for some 8000k bulbs with cloudy headlights!!
And the 99 Altima with 30k lights not cuttin it with the hubcaps man
Do it right with either some CBI's (5000K) or if you guys want some color I have the Philips 6700k on my 06 from imported from japan that puts out a pink/purple hue and doesn't look ghetto.
its not 2004 anymore the blue lights gotta stop.....
