Heated seat switch bulb replacement

The backlight on the driver's side heated seat switch is burnt out. Is it easy/possible to replace it? It's not really a problem, it just looks weird at night when the passenger switch glows and the driver switch doesn't.

You have to remove 2 side aluminum trim on the center console and remove 2 screw inside (bottom) arm rest pocket and remove 4 screw top of the center console near cub holder(2 each driver side and pessanger side) and slide armrest colsole to back seat(not too much enough to access your hand.
You will see 2 switch that cover with silver tape and remove tape and you could see light bulb use thin flat screw driver counter clockwise to remove blub(easy and careful). install is back word...

Good luck

Does anyone know that bulb number for that switch? My switch's bulb is out too, and I was thinking that I would have to buy the whole switch, but I'd obviously much rather just change the bulb.

This is more of a common problem than I would expect from Acura. My 04 TL is no longer under warranty and a bunch of lights are out (Drivers side heat, seat memory 1, hazard, mode button on the steering wheel)

I am contemplating swaping all my interior bulbs for white LEDs since I have a few out myself. Looking for a good DIY before I give it serious thought.

The oemacura.com (Delray Acura) website has what you need, including exploded diagrams. You have to do some thinking to find what you want, though. By the way, these bulbs aren't cheap. The bulb the OP mentions is 5852-SEP-A02, and it sells for $3.42. Nearly all of mine have burned out. I've bought replacements, but I'm going to wait for warm weather to install them.

If your car is only an 07, I would try the dealer under warranty.

If they won't ,or your determined to do it yourself this helped out

Just remember, LEDs will not be able to dim like the incandescent bulbs that are in now. I did that and they are bright as hell ... not a good idea. The seat heat bulbs are fine for LEDs, but the dash ones are going to be too bright for night-time driving.

Actually not. Go to this page:

http://www.acuraoemparts.com/delray/jsp/catdisplay.jsp

and click on "SWITCH". That diagram has most of the switches, including the seat heater.

djflex, do the same. I think you must have gone to the Delray Acura front door instead.

I am changing out all of the interior bulbs on the dash, steering wheel controls, door arm rests and heated seat switches etc. I am worried about what I am reading here that the LEDs are not dimable! I would hate to go through all the work to replace them all just to find that I can't stand the way it looks after the job is done. My desire to replace with LEDs is that they last 100k hours of time before burn out and I would never have to do it again EVER.
I purchased a LED kit online for the steering wheel and main instruments on the dash from amazon and communicated back and forth with a guy from the web site who said that if you get the lights meant for your build year that they are all the same base size. Wrong. The first ones I wanted to replace were the heated seat indicators on the console and arm rest switch bulbs as they are all burned out. The lamp base sizes are all smaller than the ones I bought. I live in a rural area now where the nearest Acura dealer is a 2 hour drive away and wanted to know if the same bulb can be bought at a Honda dealer instead. Any ideas?

John

It is a T3 Wedge bulb. You can purchase them thru acuraoemparts dot com. I would assume Honda would be the same but you may want to see what they sell first.

Yes. I got mine from a local Honda dealer. Get two bulbs and do the driver's and passenger's switches at the same time or else you will notice a slight difference.

I used cheap t3 wedge leds from ebay. Blue for low and red for high which is very easy to notice. Sometimes i accidently switch to high and my butt cooks.
