Heat coming out with Vent off?/Climate control question (merged threads)
Wondering if anyone else has noticed this...
When I put my heat on and adjust the the mode to floor only, I still get warm air blowing out of the driver's side dash vent. I have to close this vent not to have it blowing. I haven't reached over to check the passenger side, and nothing comes out of the two center dash vents regardless of mode.
Is there something wrong?? Do I need to take my car in? Thanks.

This is normal on every car. Even if the fan is off you will still see some air blowing through. The higher your speed the more air coming through.

Ok, thanks. I don't get it though. If you're selecting "floor only" why don't you get floor only??

Yes. If the system is set to 'fresh' instead of 'recirc' then air will come out.
Even on recirc, there is still heat from the coolant travelling through the heater core. If you don't want the ambient heat, turn the climate control on, adjust the temperature, then turn it back off.
I test drive 10-15 cars a day, and do this quite often. the last thing I need is to get the 'nods' in a customer's car that's so hot it's stifling.
