Headlight modification questions !!
So I'm finally gonna clear my headlight and put some switchbacks on! The thing is i want to change the daytime running lights too to some less or xenon(well i don't even know!) but white bulbs ! I'd like to change the high beam (OEM xenon) to blue lights ! So what i need to know is what is the bulb model that i need for these and what brand do you recommend !
Plus, It seems like the inside of my headlights are worn a bit, do you have any suggestion of things i could do to get that cleared ? Since i'll have them opened up when i'll clear the turn signals. (Without buying new ones !) Just got them polished(outside) about 2 months ago so i'm sure it is inside!
Spec:
Acura Tl 05
Base AT
P.S. I live in canada! and i speak french if it can help !
Thank you !!
(For the pics, the yellow one is DRL and the white one is the high beam)

Welcome. Try a search next time. Although there may not be a DIY exactly for this there are certainly tons of threads with this information.
The inner section on those lights is technically the 'fog' light. In 07-08s those became DRLs. A lot of 04-06 guys install a module to make that light a DRL or, like myself, hack up the harnesses so that it is independent of the accessory lights.
Some guys install LEDs there simply for the looks. Some guys install HIDs there for the output. The choice is yours.
Fog lights are most useful the lower they are. Also the more yellow the bulb the better (cuts through the weather). So if you intend to install Inspire lower fogs or do an Accord retrofit in the lower grill, my advice would be to find a LED bulb that matches whatever headlight bulb color you choose. And install some 3k HID in the lower fogs. If you don't want to do a lower fog retro then I would do 3K HID in the headlight 'fog'.
As for the main headlight bulb, remember, the higher in kelvins you go the less output you'll receive. My advice would be to go no higher than 6K. Morimoto, CBI, oem are about the only bulbs choices I would choose for those. CBI being the best output, oem good all around, Morimoto being good on color/output/cost.
The perfect setup IMO, CBI for main bulbs, LED matched in the 'fog' area modded independent for manual DRL, accord lower fog retro with 3K HID.
As for polished the inside...just do the same as the outside. Although I will say this, as someone who has opened their lights many times, the less you do/touch/handle/fingerprint/breath/dust/etc on the inside of your lights the better. Like the 'chromed' reflective pieces? Yea..don't touch those. If you do, don't rub your fingerprints off too hard.
Another tip, source some super big ass silica gel desiccants to stuff behind the lights on the inside. Like what comes in shoes, etc. Heck I got mine out of my iMac box. There are some in there stock, but by now, they need replaced and you can fit more in there. The more the better.
Also if you're going in that deep you might as well swap out the lenses and upgrade to ZKWr's.

Thanks for the reply! I still have questions if you don't mind !
I dont get the difference between DRL and my "fog lights" ?
I wont do the lower grill conversion so should i keep the yellowish light(inner part of the headlight)?
As for the high beam i tought that 8-12000k was blueish and 4-8000k was white am i wrong or i just dont get it ?
What do you mean by making the fog independant accessory ?
For the chrome pieces inside, i was gonna paint it black with some special paint, any toughts ?
Thanks a lot

DRL run during the day for safety. Fogs are suppose to be used when needed. I'm pretty sure the 07-08s have a sensor and those lights come on automatically when it's dark enough.

I would. But I'm more function than form when it comes to lights.

Stocks are 4300 or 4500 or something like that. 5K is the sweet spot. 6K if you really want that "ice blue" look. But IMO, 5K is what you want. A tad less yellow than stock but still has good output.

To use the inner lights (fogs or what you thought were DRLs), with the stock lever switch by the steering wheel, the accessory lights normally have to be on. You can mod the harnesses so you can use that switch independently.

Yep that's what most of use do. Black out the headlights. Tons of threads here about that.

2 options. new headlights. or buy new plastic which is not sold separately so you'd likely have to buy headlights from a junkyard. open those up and take the lens.
You can try opening yours up and sanding then buffing then clear coating the lens but as far as I know you can't buff cracks out

Sadly I agree. I'm not sure there is much you can do about that.
If anything contact one of the forum vendors. They may have extra lenses laying around that if they did your lights they could save you from having to replace them entirely...

Yes like Bruce. There are a couple "mod your light" type guys floating around here.
Or just find a pair of used lights. I think there was some in the BM.

Unfortunately those headlights lenses aren't repairable. You can either buy new headlights or find cheap used ones on the BK Market. I had the same thing happen to brand new set of depo headlights that i modified for my Z, and i had to bite the bullet on a second set just for new lenses.

If you don't wan't to use your DRL's as fog lamps it sounds like you'd be better off with a 1000lu 9005 that isn't obnoxious to oncoming traffic, if they make one that is? My personal opinion go with a 65w 9011 bulb, even with the lower voltage they'd be great
A link from a different post I made in another thread I made about my 9012 fog lamps.

I think his projector lenses are fine. His headlight lenses not so much.
