Have you bought a new fog light housing?

Long story short I have to replace the fog light housing on the passengers side due to extensive damage.

I was wondering who has bought an after market and the price that they paid for it. OEM is about $251 and DEPO is $114. Obviously im going to buy depo but was wondering if anyone had a better price and who they purchased through.

OEM or DEPO are the only ones most members recommend.

I happened to find a used OEM on eBay when I needed one. Paid about $100 for it.

Okay awesome. Seems to be around 100 is the norm which is fine, but 251 is just a little ridiculous.

I was shocked at what is was potentially going to cost. Couldn't believe how high the prices were, so I was all over the buy it now when I saw the used OEM light.

yeah the price point on this fogs are ridiculous! I tried to find a set to do a projector retrofit with and wasn't about to drop that much on an aftermarket pair..

My DEPOs would sometimes get small petals from the plants around my house in side them. Water no but a bit of condensation (LED wasn't snuggle in tightly).

DEPOs are glass. Are the spyders glass too?

I used a Depo replacement fog light on an Escape. It may be totally different than a TL one, but: The glass & reflector & light output/quality are good, but on mine, there is rubber gasket/seal that you have to very carefully install & make sure it stays exactly in place or it will leak.
Once I got it right, no problems.

I just bought some yellow fog's on ebay, couldn't tell the difference other than it's hard plastic front instead of OEM glass. Haven't installed them, still waiting on the new bumper

I am pretty sure that OEM lense is made of PLASTIC and NOT glass.

07 TL it's made out of glass. I know because a rock hit mine and it cracked. I was not going to spend $100 or more so I went to Home Depot got $5 lexan plexiglass cut it with a dremel tool and used silicone to stick in the housing. Google lexan plexiglass fog light

Same for the TL. I broke the lens (confirmed as glass) in my '08 Type-S and just replaced it yesterday. the OEM housing cost about $250. I made sure to put clear Lamin-X on both while doing the swap.
