you are getting LESS power and LESS fuel economy with 87 octane.

Hope you enjoy your savings.

OP, you do realize our cars require premium gas, right? it says so right on the fuel door.

use 91 if you have to, but 93 if you can. don't use 87.

i use shell V POWAR 93 bc V POWAR is V TEC.

Same, I won't get gas unless the station offers 93 (my normal joint is a Raceway/Sunoco since they offer 93 and like 100, I believe, its some higher octane). I have never once put below 93 in my TL-S.

all our local stations stopped carrying 93 octain right when I bought my TL. Only option for me now is 91.

We even had 94 available at a few places. right when about everybody locally had thier cars tuned with it, they took it away, lol. Now everybody has thier shit tuned with e85 and theres only 2 pumps left locally...dissapearing fast. Glad i didnt bother converting.

91 or 93 only from Shell, Mobil, or Sunoco for me.

87 is not a good look for the reasons that Justn pointed out above.

Not only will I use Premium only, which around here fortunately is 93, I will only use Shell. Used to only use Chevron, but they have pretty much pulled out of our market.

As for injector cleaner, I think it's a waste as long as your running detergent gasoline. I had a look down the oily/dirty grimmy intake runners of my wife's V6 Pilot. Everything past the injectors was SPOTLESS. Not a spec of grime on the backs of those valves.

Chevron 91 for my TL.

yep. same shit is going on again with the dissapearance of the 93 too, lol. everybody was scrambling like crazy over the last month before the first races for people to retune thier shit. it really was comical.

e85 is on its way out too locally. everybody is gonna have to convert back to slow ole racing fuel. the amount of bitching and moaning will be epic.

Thanks 94eg!
Doing a valve adjustment on her Pilot this evening/tomorrow. I'm gonna try my best to get a shot of the ports & valves. It really was astonishing. I tried my damnedest to get it last time when I cleaned the manifold, but I suck at using my wife's Nikon SLR.

I use 91. I'm pretty sure that's the highest octane we get here in Denver because of the altitude.

This thread is going nowhere. Everyone uses 91/93, no one uses 87, and if you do, you're a fool.

If you aren't going to listen to the gas cap that looks you in the face every time you fill up that says "Premium Only," then who are you going to listen to?

^^ +1

A lot of people think they can get away with it (putting in medium or low grade) but to me it's not worth it, and apparently to the rest of this community. And honestly, putting in premium isn't that much more expensive. If you have 30 people advising against it, you're more likely to listen to them.
