Hey guitar,
It's NjAcuraTL from . I figured i switch over here and get better help. So far i plugged in the switch and the harness, but i have one cable left over under the dash. It's the red wire with the dual grey connector..I know everyone says to cut the wire and ground it, but I was wondering if there is actually a spot to plug it in? Or maybe that grey connector connects to a ground splice pack? Here's a pic of where I'm at. I'm not pulling the bumper off until wendesday...I just wanted to get the dash wiring done today

ok i got the ground wire figured out ....i just cut the connector off and grounded it with the other ground under the dash.
Under the hood I am still a little confused...I know that the big brown connector with the blue and green wire cannot be used bc it's the connector for the accord..
I guess what i'm asking for is a little more clear instructions on where to cut and splice for the relay and power...I found another empty socket under the dash that the blue and green wire connector plugged right into. I understand that this is the wire that i'm supposed to splice in the "New wire" that i'm going to run through the firewall. My question is...If there is a socket for the plug under the dash, then where is the connection under the hood for the brown connector w/ blue and green wire? I know I'm going on and this may seem like confusing questions.

So after getting very frustrated and nowhere with the harness under the hood and dash, I'm taking a break for the night and I will continue tomorrow. Here's where I think I went wrong...
1. When I was reading through the DIY I did what guitar player and A4tlp did..except i left the blue and green wire plug in the fuse box.
2. I have no power at the top left red/black wire for the parking lights. Found out i popped the 10 amp fuse for the interior lights and marker lights..oops. I'm going to pick up another add-a-fuse (already have one in for my amp). and run power that way. I'm going to double check that there is no power at the red wire that I grounded, as this may be my short.
3. I'm going to remove the extra wires for the other relay that I don't need.

And I'm going to put together a wiring diagram to help the other people with wiring problems...some of the instructions are a little gray and hard to understand. I think some electrical diagrams will help.

Hey, I can't PM you because you're a new member and it says you exceeded your inbox.

1. You DON'T ground the red wire.
Ground the BLACK wire (as per my DIY).
In my DIY, I don't even mention a red wire.
For this to work out, you HAVE to read through every step carefully.

Step 5: Ground the switch

There will be a black wire with a ring terminal at the end. All you have to do is bolt the terminal onto a ground point. The point I used was directly under the steering wheel.

Maybe this picture will help with your parking light wire:

Good luck!

ok I need an admin to delete that last response, I was trying to put up electrical diagrams for the 05 Accord.

here are the two main diagrams i dug up for the 05 honda accord accessory fog light kit..I think this should be something that comes with the kit..leaves a lot of us in the dark without it

Where'd you read ground the red wire? LOL

I would solely just focus on the steps I mentioned.
You'll have LOTS of leftover connectors and useless wires.

In the cabin, there are only, and I repeat, only, 3 things you have to wire.

1. First, and easiest, ground the switch harness.
It's the black wire with a ring terminal already on it.
Unbolt a ground bolt, stick the ring terminal in the bolt, and reinsert the bolt.

2. There should be a connector with a green wire. Clip the connector off the wire (make sure it's not the switch connector!), and splice it to wire that will run through the engine bay to the relay.

3. There should be a onnector with a blue wire. Clip off the connector, and tap this wire into the parking light wire with a splice connector or t-tap.

That's it =)

The switch itself does not need power.
The indicator (might be the power on illumination you're talking about) lights up only once you tap into your parking lights, and have wired the relay and such in the engine bay.

Anymore questions feel free to ask!!
It will work my friend!

Cheers

"Success! Got everything working and cleaned up all of the extra wiring under the hood. I found a few slots in the fuse box that are open and have power with ignition on but dont know why on some slots the power comes from the top pin and others the bottom pin? Anyone? Anyways I think Im just going to use an add a fuse and use the spot for the front 12v outlet as a trigger when I get the hid's... heres the pics!

red plug on the harness which needs to be grounded to illuminate. I was going to cut off the plug and extend the wire to ground but I cut it near the switch and grounded it to the same point as the other ground."

That was from page 7...anyways this is either wrong color id or just wrong altogether as it blew fuses in my car. I do way better when I have a schematic in front of me, which i now have. Anyway, i'll be tackling this tomorrow so everyone have a good night!

Glad you figured it out!

I just realized you were following some instructions from last page.

I need to clean this thread up and compile everything on the front page.

Success!! After removing the red ground and re-wiring a bit, I got the fogs working in a bout 20 minutes!! FYI DO NOT ground the red and black wire. The idea was to ground that in place of the computer grounding the illumination wire..the problem is there needs to be a load on that circuit in between the switch and ground, ie the computer. I'll probably tap into the VSA switch like you said for the switch to light up. I'm going to clean the wiring up a bit and now it's onto pulling the bumper.
On a side note I decided to use an add-a-circuit and tapped into the interior lights fuse. If i decide to switch to HID's I'll move that to the low beam circuit. And now they're independently wired so I can have them on with or without the lights on or the car on/off!

just to be sure, I thought I would ask. does anyone see any concerns with the foglight mounting fitting once I install the bumper? In particular, I'm worried about the big washer on the side, and then the two big pieces of plastic I am using.

They're not going anywhere =)
One thing is though that you didnt use the adjustment bracket used to rise or lower the fog light beam.

^^Thanks, actually its there, just behind the other bolt.

But, do you think the bumper will rub against anything when I put it back on the car? Now that I have a few things protruding out from that area?

Nah, it won't rub.
There's LOADS of space between the bumper and the actual car frame.

Yeah, they can install it.

You better hope they look at this thread though so they know what they're doing and install it properly (not pointing out to the sides).

Oh and I have the type s bumper and aspec kit so the holes for fogs are already there. Would it still work? And so with ordering the fog kit for accord will that come with all wiring cause that's really what's stopping me from doing anything cause I have no idea about fog kit hid kits.

It would still work.
I've seen it done before, but the accord fogs aren't as big as 07/08 ones so it won't really fill the hole as expected.

Yes, the accord fog light kit comes with all the wiring.

If I were you, I would get the fog light kit just for the wiring even if you decided to buy 07/08 TL foglights.
Think of the accord fog assemblies as a bonus, just because the whole accord fog kit is like 50 bucks...

It's an OEM kit, sold by a guy who had a lot of sets.

He's not apart of this site. He's on ebay.

I take it you havn't used ebay before? lol

Just make an ebay account, and click "contact this seller"

jonesbs9 doesn't have a site.
If you're talking about an official site as a Honda site, expect to spend over $100, whereas jonesbs9 sold them for $50

Those won't look good. Too circular lol

I wouldn't get those, they are civic fogs.

Yes you can!

Type-S grills are optional, but you can just cut your existing grill.
