As much as some feel the 6MT is a premium, the book, depending on the one used, actually deducts value for the manual. None adds value for the manual.

Welcome Dos Bryans...
if you click the little image to the right of the quote button, you can multi-quote and avoid multiple individual posts as replies.

I have gone down this road too many times...with cars that are too good to be true and after all the dust is settled and I've gotten the car to what I consider my standard...I've spend as much if not more than having just bought a clean one. Lesson learned (in my case that lesson is never learned)...I put value in the adventure and learning part of it too...more fun to know how far you've come.

Welcome to the forums, a wealth of knowledge, and know it alls, and big egos and a handful of good friends. We have it all!

My point exactly. While the OP's TL Type-S 6MT may well have been capable of fetching in excess of $13,000 before it was damaged, the adjuster may have only seen it as being worth half that or less.

Nice!! I had been looking for one of these for a while. This area has these and the Accord V6's way over priced. When my wife's Accord was "totaled" from the hailstorm in May. I found the 06 TL base. Actually my insurance found the car. The best price I could find around here was in the $10k range for a high mileage variation. I don't mind the mileage, but wasn't paying 10 grand for one. I got ours for $4500, knowing I would go through it anyway. I'm in Chesterfield, and I work out near Midlothian.
