Does anyone know how to install it? I took the cap off, but I can’t seem to screw the aluminum into the tow hook. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

What's hard about it?

For what its worth, I had to use my tow hook (for the first time in the car's entire life) a month ago. The threads on the body were in pretty rough condition, from the many years of dirt, water, salt, etc. It took some force to thread the hook in. I put the tire iron through the eye bolt of hook for leverage to turn it and that worked after some effort. Not sure if that's the issue you're referring to here.

Sounds like a plug.
