Dumb question... can I drive my car without a passenger seat?
I'm in the middle of a project and my front passenger seat and center console are both out (shifter portion is still there, though). The service manual scans say to disconnect the battery before removing the seat due to side airbags, so can I reconnect the battery to drive to work tomorrow? I don't want to have to put this together tonight just to have to take it apart tomorrow again, but I don't know anything about airbags and this is my first major project.

Yes, but most state laws will require you to strap a blow up doll (in a sitting postion) to the floor where the seat would normally be.

I'm pretty sure you can drive without a passenger seat, but I think you will throw a srs light, because the passenger seat is not there, but I'm pretty sure there a way to remove the srs light

From what I know both front seats are supposed to be in the car, the rears aren't that important. This is due to the car being considered street legal or not. But I mean if you're working on it and it requires it being out then you could probably get away with it.

I just want to make sure if I reconnect the battery the side bags won't go off. I don't care about legalities.
I think I'm OK just being overly cautious.

From a technical perspective, you can drive the car without the passenger seat. Please be aware that your driver-side airbags may not be functional (not saying this is the case, but it is possible). You can reconnect the battery with no fear of any airbags being deployed. And, as mentioned already, you will have a SRS warning light on your dash with the passenger seat removed.

Good news everyone, the bags didn't deploy, there were no problems starting the car without the passenger seat, and I'm not dead (yet).

I'll be putting it back in, I'm just working slowly because I'm doing this by myself and it's my first big job. I'm doing a stereo install and will be adding a mass-loaded vinyl barrier under the carpet.
