Dumb question
Hey,
I'm buying DW1 trans fluid in bulk for my TL.
The lady has an 8th gen R18 automatic trans civic - even though it says Acura on the container (ATF DW1 08200-9008A), is this not the same DW1 trans fluid that Honda produces? And therefore could use in her civic as well?
Thanks

Should be good, I only buy parts/fluids at the Honda dealer 1/2 mile down the road.

I too would assume they are the same fluid. I can't imagine Honda making a different fluid than Acura, for the same purpose.

Your lady will likely start experiencing Luxury-like shifting performance that's dedicated solely for Acuras. I don't know if she can handle that kind of thrill so I'd just stick to regular Honda fluid for her car.

It'll work best though if you buy a stick-on Acura "A" logo and affix it to her trunk lid.
