Dual Tilting Mirrors in Reverse
I don't want to call this a mod...yet.
But this seems it would be ridiculously silly to accomplish.
Simply pop out the panel and splice either the right or left into the other.
Or maybe even link the two wires together so that dual works in either position.
Has anyone done this?
I'm about to go out and attempt this. I'd like them both to tilt like in newer cars.

Well, removed panel and disassembled the "module" and I believe it's apparent that the reverse indicator will come into play.
Looking into the wiring diagrams now...if someone know of the specific diagrams I should be looking at...feel free to point me in that direction.

I can't find any wiring diagrams
I guess I'll go play with it.

Update:
I've reduced the three wires down and was able to tilt the mirrors while in reverse regardless of the position of the mirror switch.
First image shows the identified wires, the other three are just for reference.

It'd be much simpler if both tilted by default...which is what I hope to achieve. Kind of messes with the flow of backing your car in when you park like that everywhere...added my car is my office as soon as I leave the driveway. Hence, I park A LOT.

You realize that the TL mirrors will start clicking and wearing out the motor prematurely if you use it too much. I'm not even saying that it happens to some people, im saying it WILL start clicking. The way the ball joint is lubricated is horrible by design, that's why so many TL mirrors start clicking after awhile. You can pop the mirror off and apply the grease but how many times do you want to do that? After a couple times the mirror clips will break, guaranteed. I only tilt mine when I am parallel parking, otherwise I leave it in neutral position.

I dislike moving the switch when the mirror that didn't need to tilt did and the one that needed to didn't.

When I drove a BMW x5, I hated the fact that both mirrors tilted simply because typically you want to see the cars that are behind you when backing up into a spot, not the ground on the opposite side of the curb

Oh it won't cause premature wear. If it starts clicking, re-grease, and enjoy the next 8 years of perfectly working mirrors. Lol
This is a great idea! I need one side to back out at home and the other at work. So this would be awesome!
