Does the G35 have better leather/rear seats than the TL?
For all of you TL owners with experience with the G35.. I have heard the back seats for the G35 are much more comfortable than the TL is this true.. Do the TL's rear seats provide enough lumbar support and is it situated too low? Also how is the leather quality compared?

I have a 2 door G35 coupe, so I can't compare rear seat comfort compared to the wife's TL
However, I think the door opening of the rear doors is very awkward. I have to contort my back to get out, which I didn't have to do in our old 2G TL.
But yes, I think the leather in our G35 is better than our TL. The G's leather seems softer to the touch, and it doesn't get butt marks.

my driver seat shows a little more wear than other cars i've had for the same amount of time. my back seats still look new, havent had any problems with the leather and i often find myself driving a full car of people.

I think by far the Lexus leather feels best, soft yet thick.

Are you deciding between the the two cars? If so you going to be looking at a hard decision. I originally wanted a TL, I was a very big honda fan and pretty much grew up driving hondas. It came down to the fact it was time to try something different, which meant some other than a honda and FWD.
Consider what you want and see which fits the bill, neither will dissapoint.

are the reclining seats in the g that big of a deal? how do they work? does the bottom cushion move forward? if it does, don't you lose rear legroom that way?

There's a lever to the right or left of the seat depending on which side you on, you pull the lever and the back rest reclines. It doesn't recline a huge amount, but it's enough to make the long hual more comfortable.

When I tested the G35, the leather was more comfortable, but it looked very strange and shiny, as if it was stretched to the maximum. The leather on the TL is a little more looser, but I don't think there is a huge difference in terms of comfort.

I find the leather in my 03 G35 to be quite nice. The leather is extremely soft yet it's shown absolutely no wear and even with it being willow (tan/greenish color), it hasn't shown ANY soiling in over 3 years of use. However, I've had loaner G35s with the new wheat interior and charcoal interior and the grade of leather looks far cheaper. Like someone said earlier, Infiniti typically makes the leather tight and snug like the Europeans. Honda/Acura has always used a looser leather fit with a bit softer cushions.
My G has the reclining seats and I think they're pretty dang sweet. Only the back reclines, but that 2.5" of recline makes a huge difference. With the center arm rest down, even my 6' 2" body can get really comfortable. Honestly, it's the most comfortable back seat I've sat in. The downside to reclining seats is there you can't have fold down seats. Thank goodness the trunk is huge.
