DIY Video: Uninstalling OEM Intake & Installing Cold Air Intake 3G Garage #B-001
Here is the much requested Uninstall of OEM Intake & Installation of Cold Air Intake.
I tried to make it as simple as possible to understand.
Before you begin, remove your front bumper. If you haven't already done so here is a DIY video on how to do so. Just Click on Link Below

Awesome. This came just in time. I need to put in a new air filter and thought about paying someone to do it. For the life of me I couldn't figure out how to get that damn front bumper off. With your video DIY, I have a much more clear direction as to how to do it. Thanks.

Fscking AWESOME.
I am posting this on the RL board as removing the OEM intake on the RL is VERY similar.
EDIT: Done. You are the man, sandiegodrive!

If I only lived near you...I'd be 'donating' my car to you to make these videos, haha.

So then I removed my front bumper which takes about 10 minutes and I did it in 55 minutes. Yeah, I found it easier. It was a pain without the bumper off for me.
But props for doing the uninstall and install w/ the bumper on . I've done it and it was a pain.

SDdrive and i did the CAI install in my car (the car in the DIY video). Yes i had the engine light turn on, but after a few hours or so it turned off. SDdrive warned me about that and said that it was normal. i dont think its anything to worry about!

Quick question, i have an AEM CAI. . .i placed th vibration mount up in the engine bay not down by the resonator box, is this the correct placement for the vibration mount for the AEM CAI? I know in this video they use a different intake but anyone with a lil insight could let me know...
I get mad vibrationwhen i shift into reverse with my foot on the brake, the car is stationary. Also i noticed that when i conected the intake to the vibration mount, it somehow pulled the tubing going directly into the engine a little out (maybe 1 cm). I would get a lot of backfiring when it was setup like this(under WOT from 2nd to 3rd), however i disconnected the the part of the intake connecting it to the vibration mount and forced the tubing on very snug and clamped it down well. After this i tried to reproduce the backfire under WOT and it would never happen. The only problem now is that it vibrates, in reverse, if i hit a pretty hard bump...etc its annoying as hell! Any solutions/suggestions?

I just need to find a place to install it lol. Where I live it's all street parking and don't really want to be taking my bumper off in the middle of the street. The family isn't fond of modding so forget asking them for the space. Hell I got an idea, I'll buy you beer (or whatever your posion might be) for the install help!
