DIY Video: Removing Your Rear Bumper 3G Garage #E-095
#41
Great video, I just finished swapping my OEM tail lights with TL-S lights and the video (and Ron's post https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-2004-2008-93/how-do-i-remove-rear-bumper-569062/) helped out a lot.
Some of those bumper clips were a pain in the ass to get off. I didn't break any but this chew up a few, but not to the point that they are unusable. Also, a stubby Philips head screwdriver helped out a lot.

I figured the front bumper out last year....which took....maybe 3 hours...sheesh you made the rear bumper removal look like cake work.
Anyone removing the bumpers which entails snapping those plastic fitting out with a flathead (a little bit finesse but more brute strength)....I recommend picking up some extras from the stealership...I paid 8 bucks for 5 of them (ridiculous I know). Well worth it if you break some and you are doing this fix on the weekend. Just my 2 cents!!

Great video! It may come in handy if, Question: The previous owner was in a rear end collision. As a result: the sides of the bumper at the very top where it meets the corner of the tail light is flared out. Is there a way to square it up I.e. a clip that is worn out? Any ideas? It's not huge but it bugs the hell out of me.

Sweet video. Thanks for taking the time to put it together. While your procedure seems pretty straightforward and easy, are there any things to be careful not to do, i.e. use too much force and possibly break something, think something is in place when it really isn't, rattles, etc.?
I know there are written instructions for replacing the tail light lenses, but is there a video like this one. Seeing it done via video is SOOOO much nicer.

TL5155 - Once you get in there its easy. Just dont over torque the nuts on the tail lights. For the lights there are four screws where you will access them from the trunk (pull back the liner) and from the outside there are 2 there. You will have to take out the led board from your tails and swap it into the new one. Then just put everything . Oh I got it pack and box and will drop it off at the USPS.

Hey guys you wanted a video for removing your rear bumper and here it is.
It was fairly easy to film this time around. I only had 5 minutes to cover things in this video so I hope it was enough.
If for some reason the video doesn't play just click refresh (F5) on the photobucket page.
Needed Tools:
- 1 Flat Head screw driver (2 would be better for clips)
- 1 Normal length Phillips Screw Driver (longer would be better)
- 1 wrench with 10mm socket

the basic locations of mounting hardware is the same, whether OEM or aftermarket. The procedure of removing the rear bumper is one of the more basic procedures for our cars and honestly, if you can’t figure it out after watching the video, you’re
better off taking your car to a shop.

"Figuring it out" is how shit gets broken, this is why service manuals exist.
