DIY Aftermarket HID kit

DIY Aftermarket HID kit
Hello, everyone, this is my first post (in theory it's my second one because my pc shut off and I have to start this one again). One of my ballast recently went out and I saw that it was cheaper to get a new HID kit, than replacing the factory ballast. Besides, I also wanted a darker color for my hids.
Step 1 and 2: Remove the front bumper and headlights. I won't be showing this because there are several videos on how to do this. In case you need it, here's the video.
I got this kit from eBay for around $30.
Step 3: Remove your factory ballast. it's held by 3 10mm bolts.
Step 4: remove the two screws holding the ballast connector. Carefully pry off the connector with a flat head screwdriver.
Step 5: Go back to your car and plug in the connector from your factory ballast to your harness. Check which wire goes to which side of your connector.
Step 6: now that we know where each wire goes, it's time to solder the wire that's supposed to go to your "factory headlight connector" to your ballast connector.
Tape it up!! Remember to isolate each wire so that the negative and positive terminal don't touch.
Step 7: Put your old ballast back on your headlight to avoid water getting in. It should look something like this.
step 8: Pick a place to mount your new ballast. This kit included some adhesive pad and I placed it on a flat spot on top of the ABS modulator.
Success!!

Very nice DIY!
I used a similar method to this on one headlight on a TSX using a D2S to AMP converter, had to drill a hole in the back of the cap to route the wires through.
Unfortunately, the one side using the aftermarket ballast was noticeably weaker than the side with OEM ballast, but it was a quick fix.
Everything added up, I should have just sourced a used OEM ballast.

Awesome mechanical work, too bad you had to use Xentec ballasts
