not sure if these cars have active noise cancelling. i used to get feedback when using the aux port while something was charging or at high volume id get clipping. sounds like your issue is different altogether

It's not so loud but I can still hear it when sitting in a quiet car. I guess I could flip the key to off. The ANC is for sure in the 07-08 and supposed to be on at all times, even with radio off. I may try unplugging it and seeing any difference.

But it's only it type-s, base model doesn't have it.
There are many pages of diagnostic steps in the service manual about noise from ANC, with either key on or off. But figured to better check that first.

I were typing too fast, can't edit now.
I meant that if you disconnect it, and noise is gone, you can diagnose further why it is making this noise (if you want to keep ANC function), or keep is disconnected.

No booming at all. It's so minute that I'm only picking it up when it's super quiet at a park somewhere with windows up. Is ANC actually any good? I have to see some youtube vids now.
