I have a 2005 Acura tl with 150k just got the transmission rebuilt about 6 months ago cost me $2,500. Now I need struts and a Rack and pinion, should I get the work done? Or get another vehicle?

Hmm... I mean the cost of parts for those is like $500 total, I'm not sure if you have the means to install those yourself but I would assume labor would be pretty significant. Rack and pinion isn't too hard, it's just you need the car pretty high up in the air. And struts you typically need another person for, though they also are not terribly complex.
So if you're paying for a mechanic to do these, I can easily see costs being in the ballpark of $1-2 grand.
That being said....is there anything else on the car that could use attention? Is it in overall good condition?
At the end of the day, it's up to you. Personally, I'm going to drive my TL until the wheels fall off - and I will prolong its life by any means necessary. The platform is reliable enough where I can justify putting money into the car, knowing the rest of it will hold up long enough to get my moneys worth out of it.
As for buying another car - if you can afford to get a new one, great. I'd go with that. But buying a used car always has the potential to put you farther in the hole, since you are now inheriting a vehicle where you truly don't know the condition of the components. Anything could fail at anytime, all depending on how it was previously treated.
The overall benefit here is you knowing what your car needs to be mechanically sound again.

why disguise your true feelings?
it's not the measly maintenance cost of $3k a year..(and even then, that's a bit high..you dont expect to change the tranny every year)
it's not the cost aspect of it because you are willing to drop $$(tens of thousands) on a different car.

The transmission was a big hit to the wallet and made him start resenting the relationship he had with his car. Now, in addition to starting to be a costly and needy bitch, she wants to get a new Louis purse and get her nails did weekly and he's not sure she's worth the headache. I mean, she's hot and has a great butt but there's been a lot less enthusiastic fellatio. He's just trying to get an opinion on how we'd handle it.

We can't tell you though...if you have the cash, and you already dumped $2500 into it...keep the party going...ride it out. Struts and rack and pinion leaking you could probably live with for a while if all you're trying to do is make it last until your next car.

Was gonna wait to see others responses and theyre right on...to me unless your buying new stick with the devil you know and repair what ya got if its otherwise ok. Have you done timing belt, water pump, valves fluids etc

I had replaced the rack and pinion on my TL-S, I am not complain at all since that is the only surprise item came up was the rack itself after 6 years of ownership and roughly 60k miles. I paid $1200 at the dealer and that included 4 wheel alignment and replace all the tire rods.

Are you ready for a 400+ car payment? Are you dumping at least half of that a month on the TL?
Granted the tranny is a hit and miss with the TL. If I was to ever get a 04-06 Autotragic, I would swap an Av6 from the jump.
We can't tell you what you should do, we can give you our opinions. If it was me, I would look at how much I'm spending on the TL a month or even the year and see if it's worth it for me to buy a new car.

Then there is the perspective of the 3G TL being a once in a generation car, looks, reliability, driving dynamics, it has it all. Said another way, what would you consider replacing it with, and would you like the replacement anywhere near as much as the TL?
Here is a recent conversation with my son:
"Dad, if money was no object, what would you buy today as your daily driver?"
I told him, "I'd buy my 2006 TL 6MT all over again (either that or a Type-S 6MT); there really aren't any sedans currently on the market I'd rather have."
He then asked, "Okay, if cost was no object, what would you buy as a second car?"
"Oh, probably something like a Boxter S."

^^^ that is my exact problem, 3G TL by no mean has all the latest technology however when compare to 2017 cars the gap isn't that much either in term of tech and looks. I mean its not like jumping from a 6th gen accord to a 3g tl.

shiet... i would've dumped the TL if it cost 2500 for a tranny.. but too little too late now, i'd say fix it, you're in too deep already
