Apologies for being a noob, but where is the link for the 3G garage write-ups located? I tried to look, but all I got is the image hosting area. Also, why can't users upload documents in their threads? I had to host that PDF instead of just attaching the word/PDF document into the actual thread.

I just wanted to say thanks for the write-up. I did my front brake pads last night on my TL-S, ad it was extremely easy. My dealership wanted $480 to replace the front pads and resurface rotors(which they probably wouldn't have even done but still charged for it)...luckily I have a buddy who is a bmw mechanic, so I got the pads at cost. Thanks for putting some $$$ back in my pocket!

Here's something nice I just found that looks like it will do the job:

For $22.52 shipped it sure beats the pants off the Honda part ($95 @ HondaPartsNow). Someone on here should buy one and give it a try. I would be interested to know if it fits the Brembo caliper...

on brembo just open the bleeder screw and gently use a screwdriver type tool to push the pad back- close bleeder, do other side

Why would u flush the system??
I dont think it's necessary to open the bleeder for anyreasons when changing the brake pads... that expander tool should work well.. I have done many brakes in many different cars, never had to bleed for any 'pads' changes...

Thanks for the DIY PDF. I am getting ready to change my pads on my TLS and am reluctant to take it to the dealer. I am going ot get the pads from the dealer and do it myself.

I just did mine, found out the squeak was coming from a broken shim on the back of the pads. Ah well, replaced with Duralast Ceramics. A little less breaking power, but 1/2 the cost. So far, so good.

Regarding the caliper expander, I don't see a use for it. I just used a thin screwdriver, and slowly spread the piston back. Just make sure you suck some fluid out of the reservoir, so it doesn't overflow.

The old pad or a wood block and a screw driver is cheaper and just as effective.

Brembo pad changes should take no more than about 20 minutes including removing the wheels...

I had a caveman do mine...

In regards to resetting the pistons. When I did mine i left the old brake pads in place, grabbed two small flat screw drivers and GENTLY put them between the disk and the pad and slowly pushed the pistons back (start at one at a time, since it is a hydrolic system the otehr side will close as you open the other so you need to get a decent amount on the one side, leave the tip of the screw driver in there and start on the other, takes a second but it works). I noticed with the brembo's there isnt room for a C clamp and personally I like saving money so I just improvised lol.

Also I just the Hawk brake pads, I like them a lot and once in a blue moon there is a squeek when backing up but nothing that is crazy, maybe once every month or two.

You can also just google "acura tl brake change" and get multiple you tube hits on changing the pads and rotors. The only thing they don't cover really is how rusty the oem rotor screws on hondas get and how hard they can be to remove without destroying them.
