Crate Engine for 2008 Acura TL Type s

Hello there. I'm kinda of in a predicament a few months ago I lost 4 cylinders in my 2008 Acura TL type s. Now before that happen I had an issue still not sure what completely happened but some how my radiator blew which caused coliant to leak into my engine. According to the shop they did their best to clean engine and of course it was an Acura start. Now I was stupid signing the paper but I wanted my car back and was sick of paying for a rental. So long story short that was in May 2015, November 2015 the engine blew. I'm being quoted 6000 for a replacement, is there any other cheaper options out there or should I just cut my losses and sell the car. Thank you

Sounds like your engine hydro locked?

Call local yards for a used engine w/low miles.

You could probably find a used engine (3.5L) on Ebay for $2k-2.5k usd and then pay someone $1k-1.5k usd to install it. That's a little more than half what you were quoted. Unless you're talking cad as a currency.. I paid only $2500 for a used engine including installation in my old grand prix.. But that's because a lot of other cars had that same motor. If you only have 60K miles, I'd toss in a used motor and sell it/trade it in.

Time to rebuild, fully built ?? If you are on a budget, get a junkyard motor and swap it or pay someone to

rebuild, for around 5500 you can build a clean and fast mild 3.6 motor like I did. I went a little more then that, but its a start and pulls like 350hp out the box
