Clear bra or no clear bra

Should I put on a clear bra or just leave it as it is. The clear bra install at the dealer is $200 not including the headlight.

I am not concerning about the price but I am worry that after 2-5 years the clear bra will turn yellow and it will ruin the paint.

That's a great price. If they are covering the bumper, hood, fenders, mirrors...that price is fantastic and I say go for it!

The $200 clear bra service is only for the hood and fenders.

This thread goes pretty deeply into your questions about long-term durability:

And $200 installed for just those areas is ok, but ask about getting the bumper and front of the mirrors also...very important!

I used the 3M Scotchgard product on my '06 TL. It came with a 5 year warranty for yellowing, bubbling and cracking. My car is silver and so far, no issues since 11/06.

As someone else stated, you can have it removed at any time.

Talking A Pic is worth 1,000 words

This a recent pic of my car. The 3M clear bra is 3 years and 3 months old.

I have low mileage and the TL is kept in my garage. I have no visible deterioration.

$200 is a steal. I paid over $500 with a wholesale discount. I have full coverage on the bumper, about half the hood, mirrors, headlight protection, and the shelf on the rear bumper.

One installer, Pepi, in Boca Raton wanted $800. (He is the best. Does all the Ferraris and Lambos, Bentleys, Rolls, etc.)

$200 is for the hood and side fenders coverage only.

I would get the bumper only before I would get the hood and fenders only. The nose is the most susceptible to damage.
