shoot temperatures on front and rear cat to see if they are similar. both getting red? if they are substantially different and this is the only one getting red hot it could be plugged up a bit

If it's coming up bright red, it may be clogged

You're relatively new here, I'd recommend making titles that are more descriptive than just 'ZOMG HALPZ PLZ' . I changed your title for you so perhaps people with more specific /relevant expertise in this can help, please keep this in mind for future posts.

If the engine is running rich it can cause result in excessive fuel being burned in the cat. That can cause it to overheat. I'd say a good tune-up would be the first step. Make sure your spark plugs are functioning properly (change if you're close to due). Dirty or clogged fuel injectors - clean them manually or at least run a can of Gumout Fuel System Cleaner. Dirty air filter - change it. Dirty MAF or MAP sensor - use some spray cleaner designed for cleaning sensors and clean them up. I think the 3G uses a MAP sensor? Dirty throttle bore and throttle plate - you can use the sensor cleaner on those or purchase throttle body cleaner. Possibly the engine coolant temperature sensor reading too cold which could result in the ECU running the engine rich - make sure the temp gauge is about in the middle when the car is warmed up.

Clogged cat or something physical like that is certainly a culprit too.
