Brembo Brake Gold Color

Guys I am looking for the gold like color that comes on Brembo brakes for instance on the Infiniti G35.

I have the brembo option on my 6 speed and would like to paint my calipers this color.

I would like a brush on paint so I dont have to get overspray anywhere and need to tape everything off.

Call Nissan and get the paint code. They chipped my friends calipers on his G35 once and they were able to get him a bottle of touch-up paint for them.

If you brush it on it's probably going to look like gold turds. Take the time to tape things off and do it right. You're going to be calling attention to your calipers with the gold paint. The whole idea is to make your car look cooler, not trashier. Just one mans opinion.

powder coating is the only thing i would do for the fronts. add the summer heat, plus how hot the get from hard driving = not good for paint. MAYBE header paint, which is what i used for my rear calipers. temps up to 1200 or something lol

btw your not the first

Where can I get those brembo covers? What about the back regular calipers are there covers for those in the same color?

I have had 7 cars and done the calipers on each one so there is nothing I havent uncovered.

Using a paint brush doesnt make it look bad vs spray paint. I prefer it because there is much less prepping. All you need is brake parts cleaner and a wire brush, hose off let dry then paint with caliper paint a few coats and let dry for 24 hours before driving.

I will check into the touch up paint from Nissan, hope its caliper paint that I can do the whole thing with and not regular paint for touchup.

Thanks guys, and yes powdercoating is the best, will cost about 250 for all four calipers

I painted my calipers with a brush. Bought one of the caliper paint kits you can get at auto parts stores. After 4 coats and about an hour of drying, they were good to go!!

Thats for custom color.

Standard kit is $43. Still pricey, but better. Gold is a standard kit color.

http://www.g2usa.com/product/G2.html

Check for local auto parts retailers that carry G2 as well.

i dont think its pricey, you need 1-2 cans(assuming you get it perfect the 1st time and dont need to strip and respray) of the VHT spray on caliper paint and they are roughly $8 each, and the clear is about the same so theres $32 already. plus if you need more incase there are runs in the paint

Good point. I was thinking of the brush on Duplicolor kits which are cheaper.

And I've read (not tried personally) good things about the G2 kits.

I think it's terribly pricey but I do appreciate you coming up with the link, I've always used 1 can of VHT and 1 can of brake parts cleaner, wire brush and a newspaper w/ trim tape as the materials in painting my calipers on all of my cars including viper, corvettes, lexus, mustang, rx7s, supra, g35. under $10 dollars and comes out perfect and lasts, no clearcoat.

I like both the gold and yellow!! What type of paint did you use?

greco really? Maybe you need to watch your dollars on wasteful items, that is how you collect them and use them to buy nice things instead of poof and gone in thin air

So, quick question for the guys that have done this....

I have a bunch of touch-up KBP paint. Is there any way I could use that paint on the calipers or does the paint need to be a special high-temp paint?

The wheel shop that did my caliper uses high temp paint and then clear coated the caliper. You do need to clean the caliper once in a while to prevent fading of the paint. But when I had it for over 6 months, paints still shine and didnt fade away.
