The Bottom Line 245/35/19 or 245/40/19
Hey Guys I know this thread should be in the tire fourm but I need the over all help from the pros, I have a 2004 Blue A-spec, My wheels are the R-1 Racing Hex-1 "3 Piece" they are coming in 1 week, 19" by 8.5 now the big question, Should I go with the 245/35/19 or the 245/40/19 I just want to make sure that ride quality is not totaly jeporidized and that there is no rubbing what so ever with a full car load, What is your over all opion on this issue.
Thanks

I have 35's and the rollout is 1.7% longer than stock. Not too bad. But the consequence of course if more fender gap, so I'll need a drop.
It's up to you. The more tire, the farther out the distribution of mass, the more of a performance hit you'll take, but you won't need lowering to close the fender gap.
As for ride, I can't really tell any difference in ride quality between my 19's and my OEM 17's.
If you get 35's, plan on lowering.
The bigger question is, do you want 245's. I have 245's on my 8.5's and they're not wide enough even with the built in rim protector to protect the 8.5" rims. You may want to see what 255's are available for you. A 255/35 if available will help close the fender gap plus give you extra rim protection.
Rolling diameter for a 255/35 is 2.8% longer than stock, so when your speedo says 60MPH, you're actually going 61.7. This is a good split between the 245/35's and 245/40's. The 245/40's are 5.5% over stock 63.3 MPH when speedo reads 60. For reference the 245/35's are 61MPH when the speedo reads 60.

Well Guys I am already Dropped Via Acura A-spec suspension. I was worried about Rim protection and ride quality, You cant beat that custom Deep Dish lip that these wheesl give me, Kind of like the BMW Look, Every where I go they tell me that 255 is to big and will rub, ?? Very Confusing
Let me know what you think of the wheels

Since I'm not dropped, I can't speak of if 255 PLUS a drop could cause rubbing if the car is fully loaded. I like my 245's, but they're just not quite wide enough for my take (or wheel protection) with the 8.5" width. But I think O.D. wise they would look great with a drop. Right now it kinda looks 4x4.
