Auto lock feature

When programming the keyless entry through the MID there is a auto lock feature where the door locks automatically after a certain number of seconds. I hate this, the door should only lock when I tell it to. Is there any way to disable this feature all together?

i wanna know this too coz there were a couple of times at home i would unlock the car (don't open any doors) and pop the trunk to put things in and by the time i was done loading stuff the doors locked themselves. i think you can cancel the auto locks though by opening the driver door, i could be wrong though but ya it got me tripping a few times lol

its a safety feature, incase you forget to lock your doors, also, many insurance companies offer a deduction because your car does it

W1n78 is right. All you need to do is crack open one of the doors and the doors will not auto-lock. I actually find the feature useful. There have been times I have approached my car and unlocked the doors only to take a phone call or meet someone and then leave the area. I know the doors have re-locked and I don't need to worry about the car or what is in it.

The door will only lock after a certain number of seconds if you have used the keyfob to unblock the doors, and then don't open any doors. You can set this for up to 90 seconds. They will not automatically lock under any other conditions.

This is the safety feature, but it is there because, for example, you come out of the store, press the unlock button on your key fob, and then remember you have to go back in and don't remember to lock the doors again. This way, the car will lock itself and you will have to unlock it again when you come back to the car.

If the car only auto locks after using the fob and then not opening a door, how could this feature cause you to lock your keys in the car?

my settings are screwed up (somehow my remote got "un-paired" from my phone and i have to take the car in) and i think the default settings are back into effect. at any rate, my doors will not lock automatically at any time, i have to do it manually. so i'd guess this is an option.

Why don't you guys completely disable the auto lock function? Mine never locks unless I manually do so.

Yes, what he said. In order to lose your keys in the car, your door would have had to be opened -- which disables the auto-timer for the lockout.

You can lock your keys in the trunk but I don't think you can accidentally lock your keys in the car. I always put my keys back in my pocket after I unlock the trunk because I am afraid if I hold onto them, I will drop them in the trunk and lock myself out.
