Any accident you can walk away from is a blessing

So, early this morning (3:45am) I was driving and lost control of my car on this wet back road. I hit the median and here are the results........

This cuts deep because I worked so hard to save up to buy this car but like the title states I'm blessed.

Heavy RL- It sure did and very thankful to be able to walk away. I do put the claim in already.

ggesq- thanks and definitely!!

terpnation- Honestly not fast at all, the road has a nice curve plus it pools when it rains. Tires were still good.

BCH- Thanks, which part?

Another comment about being okay

I really am glad you're okay though, sorry to see this happen to you.

In a way this makes me happy because it really shows that this car does it's job in the event of an accident and I'm happy to be driving a TL, really makes you feel safe.

I'm sorry to see your car go and as many people say, buy another if you can but I'm sure most people don't. If you truly loved your TL I'd say upgrade to a Type-S

Oh, there's no question that it's totaled. Your engine is twisted 20-30 degrees. Glad you're ok.

That's what I was about to say.

Glad to hear your ok OP makes me feel safer in my TL.

As he said your engine is twisted the frame is probably buckled beyond repair sadly.

glad you're ok, how were your tires? I think I'll get a new set for the TL next year. Tread looks ok but they are old and are pretty hard so no grip when wet.

But when it does rain in LA/SoCal it's like carmageddon. no one knows how to handle it. I have a screenshot of my Garmin GPS on the first day of rain in SD and there were 5 accidents on the fwy within a 10 mile radius.

I personally love driving in the rain, except when dumb people cause accidents. 405N i saw a FJ cruiser of all things spin out because he was driving 70+ on what I'd imagine was a flooded HOV lane.

OP, glad you're OK and hope you stick with the Honda/Acura as a proven safe brand!

haha yes this is unfortunately all too true. When it rains there are accidents everywhere. People here are horrible at driving in the rain, most are just horrible drivers period...but I digress. Nothing I can do about other people, I just focus on avoiding them.

First off I'd like to say I'm glad to hear you walked away from this, and I hope you really are in good shape after this.
Been looking at a Acura TL for a while now, and just seeing how much damage was done (like 04WDPSeDaN said the engine got shifted), and hearing that you're okay, makes me confident in getting one!

AnthraciteAspec- I hear you but those smooth roads must be a dream to drive on.

anx1300c- idk, I'm just waiting on my insurer to hear what the verdict is. I thinks gonna be totaled out because of all the air bags that were deployed.

UA6- I re-read my post and got it, hahaha.

PhilB81- The tires weren't too bad but they were getting old, so I guess not good enough.

phreakv- Your absoluty right and I feel the same way, thanks.

M.I.N.O.- Dam straight man, i'm truly lucky, thanks.

04WDPSeDaN- Yea when I popped the hood the next morning, I was surprised too. Plus the engine is touching the ground. Yea man you won't regret buying one.

perilousp- Yea man you won't regret buying one.

MEKO- Thanks, it happened on commercial street in Malden. I took off the aspec front lip and rear bumper, dual blinking turn signals, the engine bay covers, trunk mud guard lining thingy lol, all the interior lights, the side markers, and isimple ipod connect (but not the wire to the radio). Everything was replace with the factory items. I waiting to hear my my insurer then I'll proceed from there. What part of the bean you from?

imakeholesinu- Hell yeah man, some of the finest Japanese engineering can found in that car.

I hate cars- Idk but it just hurts my eyes seeing my baby in that condition.
