Airbag Light 61-10

I've had my airbag light on for some time now. I had it scanned and it's a code 61-10 Permanent DTC-Open in the drivers seat belt buckle switch. I have heard that because it's part of the restraint system Acura has to cover it under warranty. Has anyone had any experience with this? Does Acura give you a hard time about it? Does the entire buckle have to be replaced or just a switch inside it? Thanks

I've had the buckle replaced under the lifetime warranty on my CLS6. I had it diagnosed during another SRS recall for another problem; therefore, I did not have to pay the 'diagnostic' charge they may try and hit you up for if you go to the stealership, so caveat emptor.

I got the same code on my 05 TL, plus the one for the passengers side, I have read mixed reviews online about Acura actually covering it under the seat belt warranty, since its a sensor (there is a switch inside the buckle) failure not a mechanical seat belt failure. Instead of having the possibility of wasting my time and getting charged a diagnostic fee (I have a scanner that can read the codes, so I already knew what was wrong) and them not repairing it under warranty, I just bought both buckles (sensor isn't available separate) new online from Acura and changed them out my self in about an hour.

I was able to get away for about a year by cleaning the switches (there are a few videos on youtube doing this, just pop the cover off the buckle and clean the switch) with contact cleaner and the code didn't pop up after one cleaning, but then it came back and cleaning wasn't cutting it anymore.
