Now, the question I have is where can I get a replacement clip? Is there even a part number for this? Help would be appreciated.

It took 30k+ miles, but I finally changed the air filter, wow, it's a lot smoother now. The old one was GROSS

Ok, so the bolts on my air filter are stuck, and I'm getting pretty close to ruining the head.
I guess the best way would be to find a 8mm head? I tried just using a wrench and the thing still won't turn.
Just looking for an alternative.

Goddam those 2 clips won't budge! I read that you should slide them out toward the engine but they just won't move and seems like I'm ripping my fingers up lol. Any idea how to get these out easy?

Wow after 47,000 miles the stock oem air filter was not only gross but had some build up, it feels heavy. The car is a lot smoother and responsive. It wont go pass 20,000 miles before I replace it again. Stock OEM air filter BTW.

Well I got my oil changed the other day and they took a look at the filter so when I got home I was like if they did it in no time then I should be able to as well. Soo I just did what I did the first time but this time they came out...maybe the mechanics loosened it when they did the oil change but it was a lot easier this time and only took me about 5 min to replace the filter.

Are there any other threads or a video showing how to change this. Following the first post didn't really work for me. I couldn't get to the bolts on the left side either, these things are turn down so hard its frustrating!

Remember when you had to spin one wing nut in the center, and the air filter housing cover would lift off ... you'd remove the old, plop in the new, and Bob's-Your-Uncle ... the whole process took about 30 seconds !!

update: never mind on the video request .... although it might be instructive to see SOMEONE ELSE chew up their fingers and hands with the clips, the bolts and the whole damn thing. The top (lid?) of the air filter box is what I found most difficult to work with. Getting it to lift far enough (and clear the car's body right behind it) to get the old element out was actually impossible without disassembling various other pieces.
I kept telling myself that an air filter replacement is not going to get the best of me, so three hours later, and a few broken parts, including a chunk of plastic the size of a half-dollar broken off the housing "lid" I finally succeeded in a task that used to take me 30-45 seconds on my previous car.
The filter looked like OEM original so it's a good thing I got this done ... but now I've got a hole sucking in air ABOVE the filter, so I'm not sure if that's going to affect something eventually.
Suggestion: allow yourself plenty of time; and keep a couple of large knuckle BandAids handy because the WILL be blood. Oh, and most importantly, take the time to unfasten the part that's clamped onto the intake: it only takes a few minutes and makes things SO MUCH easier.
