ahh..spolier the never-ending topic...how about that install?
So I just got my type-s wing and I'm going to drop it off at a body shop for a nice satin silver paint job. I did some research and read the install thread (https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...hlight=spolier) with intentions of NOT drilling and either using the 3m tape or taking it to body shop and using a strong adhesive to put it on. Only small percentage of people that only used 3m tape were completely satisfied and had their spoliers on longer than 9 months without any lifting on the edges. This is why Im leaning towards getting it put on professionally by a body shop, but does anyone have any recommendations or should I try the 3m method first? p.s thanks for all the people that gave me useful information from the previous posts.

Dude, just drill it, you wont regret it. I did 3M, special adhesive designed for BMW body kits. None of them was able to hold onto the outside edges.
Ended up growing some balls, and drilling 5 holes a year and a half after I got the decklid spoiler. dont regret it now. I layed down some solid bases of black silicone to prevent any water from going in. wasnt that bad. Use playdoh to get a template of the drill spots

hey, i have a decklid spoiler on my 05 TL. it was an option the previous owner chose when buying it from the dealer...ill tell you this...my spoiler is bolted right into the trunk, but my left side is slighty lifting...when i worked at honda i had to install these all the time and its just a couple bolts, and clips holding it down...so i dont expect it to sit perfectly flush! hope this helps.

personally i would drill it, casue i would hate to have it fly off on the highway (not that ive heard that from other members).
since i decided to drill im more inclined to buy the regular trunk spoiler now and not the decklid anymore, plus the type S decklid is way too expensive
