ACURA TL 2004 manual 6 speed transmission fluid

So I recently bought this car and I do not know what type of transmission fluid to use. Some people have recommend me Penzoil synchromesh, others have told me to use any 10w20 oil, which should i use ?

As has been stated, use ACDelco Synchromesh Friction Modified; if anybody tells you different, they don't know what the hell they are talking about.

Or you can use Acura's newer MTF which is very similar to the GM Synchromesh Friction modified! The old acura MTF isn't very good and causes a lot of 3rd gear problems!

Not sure what you mean by Acura's newer MTF; when I bought my car in May of 2017 it had just had a fluid change with "Honda Genuine HG" Manual Transmission Fluid "Advanced Protection New and improved formula for Honda vehicles". The thing is, as soon as that MTF warmed up, the third gear grind/pop-out issue would be very much in evidence. As soon as I put in ACDelco Synchromesh Friction Modified, the problem went away. I've driven over 30,000 miles since I made the switch, and the problem hasn't resurfaced even once.

On my 05 TL I have over 30k on my Honda MTF with the car at 208k No grinds, pops or anything else with this trans. Shifting rpms doesnt matter either. Just sharing my experience with my car.

And the transmission case has never been cracked since the car was new?

Acura had a different formulation of MTF that did exactly what you described. They updated it to help out with a new MTF a few years ago. Either way all that matters is no gears popping out! Very happy to hear the GM friction modified helped!
