Accord fog light switch wiring

I just finished the exact same thing on
my 04 TL. Here is how I wired the switch:

1: Combine power source with Blue and Red wires from
switch harness (I soldered all connections , coated w/ liquid electrical tape
and wrapped in black electrical tape)

2: combine the Green wire from the switch harness to the
wires for the lights (those blue/silver and blue/yellow wires )
(I think that's what color they were) Basically both fog light
wires to the green wire from switch

3: combine the black and red w/ black wires and ground to
the metal bracket behind the switch on the lower left
dash. I used a crimp-on hole connected w/ both wires
soldered to it. Combining these two wires will ground the
switch properly and provide the dash light for switch at night

Hope this helps - I pulled my power by tapping into the front
Left parking/blinker light - there is very little draw on that
circuit so there was no need to add another online fuse. The
Factory fogs combine power wih the H.I.D. 's so I avoided that
Circuit. Plus, i wanted to be able to run with parking and fog
lights only. I've had them wired for a month now in winter
conditions with no issues.
Good luck and let me know if you have any other questions

I know this thread is old, but i was using it to help me wire up my switch and i caught a couple errors. So the wires on the plug look something like this:
1. Blue
2. Black/red
3. Red
4. Green
5. Black/Red
In the above post they said black/red should be grounded, this is actually incorrect. I know it seems like it would make sense that those wires should be grounds but it is not the way the rest of the car is wired, and can cause some complications. If you look on any other switch black/red gets power when headlights are on. The issue is that if black/red is ground and blue and red are power you effectively bypass the switch. If red and blue have power the circuit is grounded by the ground which was added from the sub frame (the ground runs from the ground on the frame, through the bulb, through the relay, and finally through the indicator bulb on the switch). This may have worked for op if he had a weak ground but with a strong ground it will keep the indicator light dimly lit all the time. I was having this problem until I took the switch apart and stopped and thought about it for a second. Here is how it should be wired to avoid this:
1. Blue- Ground
2. Red/Black- tap into another red/black wire on any other switch (I used the VSA switch)
3. Blue- Ground
4. Green- This is the trigger wire for the relay
5. Red/Black- This wire is the positive which will feed the trigger wire, you have two options if you want the fogs to only come on when headlights are on tap this into the same wire as #2, if you want independent fogs tap this into any wire that has power when the vehicle is running.

In case anyone is confused about how to wire the relay i will break that down as well, when looking at the relay mine had four prongs:
1 2
3 4
1. constant power from the fuse box or battery
2. Trigger wire from the switch
3. Power wire to the fogs
4. Ground

If you want to make sure your relay is the same test for continuity there should only be continuity between two prongs these should be the trigger and ground. It doesn't matter which one you use, the other two are the power and the feed to the fogs, once again it doesn't matter which you choose. Hopefully this helps someone in the future.

This is gonna need some more clarification. There is inconsistency in the wire color codes. The list initially is:
1. Blue
2. Black/red
3. Red
4. Green
5. Black/Red

and then this:
1. Blue- Ground
2. Red/Black- tap into another red/black wire on any other switch (I used the VSA switch)
3. Blue- Ground
4. Green- This is the trigger wire for the relay
5. Red/Black- This wire is the positive

Is #3 Red or Blue? Are #2 and #5 really the same color wire? Or is one Red w/ Black and the other Black w/ Red?

I also don't follow exactly what you're saying with your explanation of the wiring problem but then I'm just an electrical engineer. A drawing might help.

I've attached the actual Honda schematic for the fog light wiring. Based on this, the correct wiring of the fog light switch is as follows:

- Blue: fog light Relay switch input (connect from ignition switched power)
- Red/Black: switch illumination input (connect from ignition switched power)
- Red: switch illumination output (connect to illumination control)
- Green: fog light relay switch output (connect to fog light relay)
- Black: switch indicator light ground (connect to ground)
