67k Miles, Should I drain and change my AT Fluid?
My car is at 67k Miles and I was wondering if I should still drain out the AT fluid and put in some new fluid.

it is not recommended that these units get flushed. On cars with a trans cooler you can tap into those lines to push out the old fluid and suck in new fluid. This is not harmful to the transmission as you are using the internal pump to move fluid in and out of transmission. takes about 15 minutes with the car at idle...
FOr the TL it is a drain, fil,l drive a few miles, repeat 3x.

Wow- you ever looked at the maintenance schedule for the TL? It says every 60k miles- I go every 20-25k. You should also bleed the brakes too if you have not already done that.

^04 plus models have a maint minder function to tell you when to do specific services...

Okay well I'm going to do the transmission fluid soon, so I was wondering what fluid I should use. I was reading up on how some members have mixed redline d4 with redline racing. They were doing
Then they found that to have too little Friction modifier.
So I was wondering if I still wanted to mix D4 and Racing ATF if I could just do
3 quarts Racing,
3 quarts Racing,
2 quarts D4?
Anyone found any way to mix the two at a good rate? Or is there another straight fluid that I should use?
For anyone that is beginning to use Racing ATF for the first time
Refill #1 = 3 quarts Racing ATF
Refill #2 = 3 quarts Racing ATF
Refill #3 = 2 quarts Racing ATF + 1 quart D4
The above will produce a 65% Racing mixture.

I just use D4 ONLY, no mixture and havnt seen any issues compared to the DW-1 fluid I had in it which made shifts laggy and rough.
I dont bother with mixtures since I dont do much spirited driving anyways. Just from point A to B so D4 works fine alone.

Better now than later.. I suggest an early service for new cars, it will have the heaviest material load from break-in.. and if a dealer says it doesn't need it (*ahem*BMW*cough*), don't go back.

Just read some of these posts regarding ATF choice.
Don't mix.. too many oils at varying viscosities don't play nice. If you do a type-F, use one closest to spec.
Don't use any off the shelf ATF. Go with what's tried and proven. D4 is good.. nothing wrong with DW1 either (thinner, but better than Z1), just be sure to stay on top of your OCIs.

I've been on straight Type F for a long time now. I don't worry about the slightly thicker fluid because summers are very hot and winters don't get very cold. These things go through a huge viscosity variation from cold to hot so they're not super sensitive to viscosity as long as you keep them from the extremes such as a thick fluid in Alaska.
Dex III like D4 is a safe bet and viscosity nearly matches Z1.Its a simple straight forward worry free drain and fill. I run type f because I like the quick but smooth shifts and I'm waiting to see if I get the flare that a few people reported. Keep in mind lots of people used type f. Only a few reported any issues. I think its been close to 40k on type f, maybe more, with almost 109,000 total miles and over 90% of those are on a DexIII fluid or Type F fluid.
The factory interval is way too long considering how quickly Z1 would oxidize and as Majofo pointed out you have all of the break in crap circulating around for 60k. If anything I would have changed the factory fill much sooner to get the crap out and then do the 60k mile interval.
I would just do D4 or DW-1. Change the DW-1 more often, change the D4 less often.
