3M Window welding upper transmission mount???

Hey guys, Hervey here. Well on my way to work last night, I was experiencing poor/harsh handling behind the steering wheel and was obviously concern as to why. When I arrived to my work site, I immediately propped the hood, my initial thought was that it must be a damage upper transmission mount (2008 Base model TL); a month ago change all motor mounts to xlr8 75a. From what I saw the upper transmission mount was completely shot which lead me to believe the transfer of vibration cased the damage. Well I'm curious to know has anyone used 3m window welding on there upper transmission, what were their results and also did the lower trans mount remain intact? My apologies in adavance to the mods was uncertain as to which thread section it need to be add to.

bandaid fixes are just bandaids!
so, if you're just trying to bandaid the problem until you can properly replace the mount, why not give liqiud weld a shot?
it either works, or you're in the same boat as you were if you didnt try it....
but again, properly replacing it will be the better of the two fixes.

Just replace the mount, its $60. I doubt the band-aid would last more than a day anyways.

It's a TL not a civic. Show it some love.
Replace the mount.
Window wield will stiffen the hell out of it which will end up breaking in a day or two of driving.

You're right about the band-aid idea, I was assuming that it would have a higher duro than the oem mount. But replacing with the original sounds more logical and less of a headache

Ironic you mention about compliance bushings, my right side needs to be replace and I have a set sitting at home already seeing how these were known issues for our TL

On the TL it wouldn't work well on that type of mount I don't think. I've used window weld on a lower trans mount on my legend and it worked well and lasted a long time but it was a totally different type of mount

yeah for sure.. Seems the 2nd TL mounts are also weak. The legend manual trans mount doesn't last long either. And it's right above the CAT so you have to take apart the exhaust to get at it. Pia
