I've learned that places like the South suck at rating 'ethnic' foods... or come to think of it, food in general...

LA, SF, NY, places with high populations Those you can trust

There's been a few times where the place is actually good tho..
Like it was so good / authentic that even to gwairos it's satisfying
One is a local ramen house.. gwairos were like.. this is more expensive than maruchan but good

I love McCain.. I'm very sad to hear about his terminal brain tumor.
I don't agree with him on everything, but on most things.
I'm happy to hear him address the senate today.

I think someone was seriously trolling your ass when they sent you to sumo sumo.

But then again... it depends on how you look at it...

some cucks think "normal" sushi is boring and plain. They want that jazzed up, deep fried, beef, pineapple, mayo, whatever the fuck else "sushi" because they see the restaurant as being "creative" and "talented" and "thinking outside the box" and "unique". Indeed, some of these places can make some tasty bits... but... they are far from legit. I wouldn't call them sushi places. But, that's not to say what they put on a plate is disgusting (unless it's AYCE... bleh).

Im no sushi snob, but I don't know a single person who would recommend sumo sumo. Seriously. No one. Actually, I lied. I know one guy who likes it, but he's a farmer from Austria. The guy wouldn't know good sushi if it hit him in the face. He also loves California rolls and thinks they're legit.

There are some much much much much better places around town, for sushi. I also wouldn't trust yelp or zomato... I've been fooled by those fuckers a number of times. No more. The problem with giving everyone a voice, through the Internet, means there is a lot of bullshit and nonsense that flows freely and no one controls the bullshit. Suddenly, Joe Schmoe goes for a $20 steak, and he considers himself a foodie... a title which in itself is self imposed and has zero basis for which to be measured by. You can say it's all gwairos, but there are dumb fucks from every culture who do shit like this. You're just bitter because of the glass ceiling imposed on you by your gwairo bosses

But yeah. Zomato should just be a banned app. "Top sushi" restaurant like Trump is a good President.

Been a couple of years but figured I'd check in and say hi

Got a friend on the hunt for an automatic 3G TL and started seeing someone new who's got a 2G TL-S, so I guess I can't totally rid myself of this forum...

Yukon Denali! It was the biggest shitpile I've ever owned, worse than my $700 spray-painted '87 BMW. Ditched it after a year for a 2011 F-150 that is way more reliable.

Sounds like some good updates, CTS-Vs sound great at full tilt.

We've only been seeing each other for ~4 weeks and all I know about the car is that it's dark green, has about 125k, and from the two rides I've had in it so far, isn't a turd. The one HID is busted so next Friday I'm teaching him how to yank the bumper and light, and replace the ballast and igniter. How long will that trans hold up?

I think the best bet is to swap with an AV6 tranny when the time comes..
I'm sure with 125k.. there's been 1 swap, otherwise issues would apparent by now.
Not 100% if the TL-S trans is more robust.. hopefully.

Definitely do timing belt / water pump / adjuster / auto tensioner and idler pulley if not done yet.
Fluids.. only if it's not on original fluid. I'd do ATF every 10-15k miles on that one.
Don't flush it though, just drain and fill what's in torque converter sump.

Cool. I'll have a come-to-Jesus talk about maintenance while we have the front end of it ripped off next Friday.

I like how oem ballast seals the bottom...
I'd probably just find a set of oem ballasts on ebay and use those...

Truck is a 5.0L Coyote. Didn't want to deal with an early-model-year twin-turbo Ford out of warranty and V8 noises make my pants tight anyway.

We found an OEM ballast/igniter setup on eBay for $55 shipped, with a 6-year warranty. Easy button. Going to re-seal everything too, because that light has a lot of condensation inside of it and I suspect that lead to the ballast's demise.

Oh, I also augmented the truck with an E46 M3 convertible. Still have racekor, too, now with more rollcage and wing and everything else.

If we're talking the 2G TL, then DEFINITELY go aftermarket... the OEM ones are crap and don't seal. www.theretrofitsource.com has a good kit for the 2G TL that includes a pigtail for plug and play ease!: https://www.theretrofitsource.com/ma...epair-kit.html
