Honestly, it's probably because neither have any idea how shitty going through a divorce is, or have ever even dealt with a lawyer before, save for when we signed home buying papers. We are just in our little bubble, playing around with stuff we know very little about. I mean, it's not like we do it in front of people.

then I unzipped it to make it more comfortable but maybe more familiar...(don't...she's a baby...
)
I then removed it and let her touch and feel it...to which she threw it on the floor and started kicking and pushing it away.
It wasn't cold...

No, actually she asked for it, when she had nothing to protect (which still baffles me), but I was gonna get one anyway. And no it's wasn't simple, dragged out for 9 months.
I have things I didn't want to just give to someone, even tho I thought it was forever. Lol!

I also didn't mean to diminish your experience...in the grand scheme of things, even with a kid...my divorce was easy...from the time I got serious about an attorney filing on my behalf...took 6 weeks. We were amicable, my savings and 401K and cars remained intact...we just split the equity in the house evenly and split time with the baby.
