U-Boats are 48mm and upwards? It can work depending on what you're wearing and if the band is fitted to your wrist.

But, the look is not for everyone...and I would not pair it with a suit.

I have a massive diesel watch that's well over 50mm. Looks badass with a suit. But then again, because I'm so big I can pull it off. Might not be the case for twiggy.

Depends on your style/tastes. If I'm going for a big-face watch, the brands I've listed would be more or less it.

Oh there are definitely more desirable timepieces out there. The Speedmaster just kind of calls to me more than anything else I can think of. I'm planning on picking one up for myself as a birthday present this year... if I don't spend all my cash on my TL

Also the Rolex 6241 Daytona Cosmo. The face contrast is just perfect imo. I'm very much a fan of minimalism and this watch just does it so well.

EDIT: Inb4 Rolex h8rade

Hmmm...no offense intended, but I've seen better looking Rolex Daytonas. I know you're saying you like that minimal look but when it looks like that, well, it completely makes it unidentifiable as a Rolex. You may as well use the $$$ for a Daytona on something else from say, JLC, IWC, Zenith, or etc.

That's just me though.

Definitely an epic watch. Talking about tourbillon, I always had something for the TAG Heuer Monaco V4 too.

Well that go awfully phallic awfully fast.

Ugh this day at work needs to go by faster - Working reception on a Friday night is like slow torture through boredom.

He is trying to edumacate us on how you have money if you drive a BMW.

But he's driving a Civic I mean ILX so what does that tell us about him.

Can't believe this guy still hangs around after being ridiculed so much before. He's hilarious though, he used to say the chrome was getting removed and it was a mistake and blah blah. Now he's like the enforcer of chrome and big pimpin' by driving an Acura ILX... but I digress

I read about a page of that thread and had a good chuckle.

Also on the bright side, my A-Spec kit is ready for me to pick up in Buffalo, so I'm super stoked. Planning to be the most heavily modded ABP on here by the end of April ^_^

This is not a timepiece thread. GTFO if you're all gonna start posting watches ya'll can't afford

And Yum, you're like every other out there- a major brand name whore. Doesn't matter if something is good or not. As long as it's expensive

I do like watches and I have about 7 or 8 of them, but I have a hard time justifying spending over $500 on a single one. I'm just not baller enough, lol. I'd be shitting bricks if I had a $2500+ timepiece on my wrist and I know that doesn't even scratch the surface for starting price for many brands. I'm hard on my watches but hey, they're meant to be worn!

100k for a watch? Fuck that. I'd likely end up scratching it and saying FUUUUUUUU for 73 days straight lol. But I guess if I could afford that, I'd just throw it out and buy another

Not quite. If it's ugly, it's ugly. I could care less it is some major high-end brand. But what I do appreciate is craftsmanship, quality, and aesthetics...so, you gotta pay for those usually.

And at $500, there are nice watches to be had.

Carrera?

TAG watches are usually not that wild looking...so, not sure which line of theirs is ugly.

So I decided to replace my wife's brakes on her Optima. Great choice since it was about 11 outside and felt like -10. Back to why I hate letting anyone touch any of my vehicles. Went to remove the passenger front wheel and what happens? the fucking idiot at Firestone cross threaded one stud and they didn't bother to fix it correctly. Shit happens but no fucking way this is my problem now. I called Firestone and they try back pedaling. Must have been the same dipshit that tried to set my father's work sprinter on the lift and bend the pinch welds so bad that it bent the fucking lower rockers. Tomorrow morning I'm bringing in her car for them to look at it.

Bad stud

Not meant as an insult, but there's definitely a difference in craftsmanship, complexity and refinement between a $500 watch (which is plenty good in my book, don't get me wrong) and a $2500, brand name aside. Just compare through the same brand and you'll see. I can myself tell usually within 10 seconds of smacking it on my wrist.

My dad is also a big amateur of watches (got that from him) and having worked in the aeronautics industry he has had the chance to buy some very interesting watches for very interesting prices and I've always appreciated the different qualities of the different models and brands.
From the boldness of some of the Rolex to the "everything just so right but why did I buy this" Patek Philippe, the very dark Rado's to the warrior Hamilton I think they all have qualities that made them worthwhile.

Talking about Hamilton, they have very good watches for almost nothing. They're sturdy and I think they're still very much in the game when it comes to actually affordable watches you can work with.
