I’m giving up on Makita. Likely going to go Dewalt.

There’s nothing wrong with the Makita tools themselves. They work well and they seem to be bulletproof.

My issue is Makita at times has a limited lineup for a particular tool. I considered a makita shop vac. The only one they had was super expensive- Like $750 expensive. Dewalt on the other hand had several options. Part of the reason I went with Makita was also due to their service center being in town... of which I haven’t used once in 5 years, because nothing has failed.

There have been a few times where I was like wtf Makita... entry level and then top end power tool, with nothing in between. Then you look at Dewalt and they have 146 options

I’m too much a brand whore to use more than one brand. I love it when everything matches.

Are you sure that $750 was a shop vac and not a dust extractor? That sounds pretty high.. I've been eyeing the Festool or Dewalt dust extractor for connecting to my saws while cutting wood to keep the air cleaner.

teh fuck
for shop vacs go with companies dedicated to making them
My RIDGID (cock) has been rock solid
It's 6.5HP and can double as a blower
I've used it for just about everything
I think I paid $100

I agree with Maj...
I stick with brand that has the most history...much more credibility and history.
Especially if it's not cordless and it has nothing to do with sharing batteries.

FFS Jawn. Yes, it was a shop vac. And yeah, at that price I was like fuck it. Bought a Ridgid shop vac for $100 instead.

I mean, Ridgid, Shopvac brand...they are the name brands known for wet dry vacuums so technically we are all name brand whores...
I'm just savvy enough not to be name brand specific.

I always wonder when people wear those gaudy belts or glasses if they actually think it looks nice, or they just want people to know they are bad at managing their money.
