5 days paid vacation.. but it only kicks in after probationary period.
I'd work Xmas regardless but they're shutting the place down for 3 weeks.
The insurance is roughly the same price if I went to the open market, but shittier, pass.
I'm just feeding the meter on my term life insurance and started drinking more

Damn man.. Contractors are a great way for big corporations to save money by not paying benefits and getting 'skilled labor' at a cheaper rate. The contracting company comes out on top as well.. but the contractors themselves are the ones that always get the shaft ..

Ugh...FWIW, contract-work is good if it's on YOUR terms...and rates. I have a couple of buddies who have been contractors for places like ConocoPhillips for years and are very comfortable. But, in your case, if you're brought back on the organization's terms, yeah, probably short end of the stick.

Again, sorry, Maj. Terrible time of year for this to happen too. I'm sure with your experience and etc., landing on your feet will be something sooner rather than later.
