30,000K light output!!!!

Just kidding.
I have stock 4300k.
But I am wondering why people in MB's and BMW's always flash their lights at me. Don't they know that their lights look similar to mine and that their blinding people as well?

When they flash, I simply flash back to let them know my high beams are not on.

I guess it was more of a rant, than asking a question.

in addition, I think its how the TLs projectors are made..I dont know why but to me the 3GTLs headlight output seem to be brighter than others. There was a thread on this already a couple years back in the 3G forum...this thread might be closed.

I've seen a lot of really bright xenons on 3G TLs. I always thought it was their high beams but it seems like every 3G TL has their high beams on when their headlights are on.

3G TL has one the best bi-xenon projector available on the market right now, in your case it might be that your headlights are aimed a tad too high.

The TL has some of the best projectors available along with the TSX and S2000! They let a lot more light out and focus it very well from the factory. BMW's optics are great for color, however their light output is pretty shitty compared to the TL (my 7 for example).

Check the aim on your headlamps (3G Service Garage has instructions) and reaim them to spec if you feel that you are being flashed a little to much.

But yea, I agree with everyone else. Its just the TL projectors being TL projectors.

I get the same thing when driving to Tahoe with all the gradual inclines, the oncoming vehicles flash their high beams thinking that mine are on. I just flash mine in return :X

Even though I loved the headlights on my TL, the headlights on my 5-series illuminate the road considerably better, so I guess BMW must have addressed the output issue since your 7-series was made. But it's also possible my TL headlights dimmed over time and I forgot just how good they were when the car was brand new.

BMW has also self leveling adaptive headlights while the TL doesn't. The xenons in my 335i doesn't seem any worse than my old S2000.

So, since the TL has one of the best projectors out there, does that mean that ZKW-r lens step it up to the next level?

I put yellow fogs in so people don't think my fogs are high beams.

That used to be such an issue with my '92 Integra, always got high beamed with my inner fogs on.

As a rule though I very rarely get flashed having just projectors on.

I have gotten flashed in the last 3 vehicles I have owned. In my Mazda 6 GT with Xenons but that had a manual leveling switch that I could change the level in the car; which I am kind of surprised the Acura doesn't have, in my truck because it had a slight lift with bigger tires and in the TSX just because it's lights are bright as hell.

Flicker can look like oncoming traffic is flashing you. Your flicker could look like you flashed them first, so they flashed you back. We're all children.

Also, if oncoming traffic is below the cutoff, flashing them back does nothing. They're already in your beam of light, you just flashed the sky.

Maybe they were flashing you because the police were ahead

I have the fogs + headlight problem once in a while. I had a cop shine his spotlight in my face as we both stopped facing each other at a stop sign. I pulled across the road and asked what was up. He told me to turn off my high beams. I told him they were my headlights and fogs, but he then seem uninterested.

Typically when someone flashes their brights at me (often), I flash mine back just so they know I don't have them on.
