3.2l Fuel Filter???

Why is it that I cannot find anything about a fuel filter for my 2005 Acura TL? Has anyone changed theirs before? If so, where did you buy it?

its supossed to be a lifetime filter, its in the trunk. You should be able to get it from the dealer.

The fuel filter for our cars is built into the fuel tank unit atop the fuel pump assembly, which is located at the top of the fuel tank. The fuel filter set is to only be replaced whenever fuel pressure drops below the specified value.

The following is for academic interest.

The red arrow point to the where the fuel filter/pump is located.

Below is an enlargement of the illustration referenced by "Fuel Filter Replacement."

Since everyone was so knowledgeable about the fuel system, how about the transmission system? When should I change the fluid?? Is there a drain plug or do you need to remove a pan and change the filter as well??

The way I like to do my TL and the wife's RL is to change the ATF everytime I change engine oil (which is Mobil1 at 3000 miles). Makes sense to me.... the car is already up on stands and the trans fliud is so easy to change once you learn the routine. Drain and add 3 quarts of fresh ATF. By the way, I use Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF in my 2006 TL and the wife's 2003 RL. I am a baddd boy.

Waist of $ why would you change your transmission fluid every 3000 miles ya its easy to do but really every 3000 I personally would change mine every 30,000 miles

It's always seems to be a new-ish poster that resurrects old threads - replying to people who have been inactive for years....

right, they werent searching for information, they just had the urge to reply to that one poster that no longer post.
when i search for information, sure I pull up old threads. however, have no need to post.
i just read, retain/soak, then apply.

Newer tl owner

Hello guys, I'm new to this site. I have had my 07 TL for a year now. I was thinking of changing the fuel filter because of some performance issues but after reading the other posts on here and finding out its in the tank I think I will hold off. The car just flipped 100k miles and was wondering what about the timing belt. As far as I know it's never been replaced. Also should it be tuned up? Mine is a automatic and I have heard rumors that the TL's had transmission problems is this true? Thanks for any info you guys can give me.

Timing Belt -- Search the site a bit more and you will find the answer....yes, it is generally assumed to be due in the 100k'ish range. Lots and lots of details on this within the forum.

Tune up -- Usually done at same time with TB...at least the plugs are.

Transmission -- Yes, change the fluid out. Lots and lots of details on that in here as well. Lots and lots of different opinions on it as well. Figure out how often to change falls within your budget and tolerance...just don't ignore it.
