2008 TL S Type clutch tool
Hello everyone I’m new here. I just purchased 2008 TL S Type 6 speed. Can anybody tell me if there are special tools needed for the pressure plate to replace the clutch? Also if there are any Indy Acura techs local to me in northern NJ. Thank you in advance to any and all replies

Yes, there is in fact a special tool for the LuK self adjusting pressure plate. As for a good TL mechanic in northern New Jersey, ping our fellow member DMZ, he'll give you a lead on a great mechanic.

Hi everyone, my name is Paul and I've been working for Honda and Acura as a mechanic for over 10 years. I am located in Clifton, NJ, so If anyone needs any work done to their Honda/Acura I'd be more than happy to help you out. I have a nice sized garage at home, so anything from maintenance to upgrades give me a call, and if I cant do the work I will try to point you in the right direction.
Thanks
Thanks

I just went to RockAuto and looked up the clutch components for my car; they sell the dual mass flywheel and the clutch kit both from LuK.

naw its pretty straight forward for a licensed mechanic. When he drops subframe with the steering rack. Just make sure he marks the steering column so your alighment isnt off when he puts it back in. Replace your slave and do the check valve delete while you're there. Id run new braided clutch line too. But not necessary. Sometimes that rubber line gets clogged up.

Yup, as I mentioned earlier in this thread, you need to make sure the mechanic has the special tool needed to adjust the pressure plate, and the understanding of how to use the tool.

Yes, exactly. Even though the LuK pressure plate is pre-set at the factory, the jostling and such during shipment is enough for the springs to completely decompress before it ends up in your hands. Long story short, the pressure plate needs to be reset before installation.
