2007 base radio to stock navigation...Possible?

Hey guys can anyone please please tell me if its possible and how much it would be to swap from stock radio to the stock navi? I'm going to be buying a TL today after work and there is a 2007 TL I love but it has base radio and I have to have navi screen or there is a 2005 with navi but has rebuilt transmission however Im getting persuaded to maybe not touch a 2004-2005 TL if at all possible. Please help guys. Under the gun here lol

It can be done, it's not cheap. There's some threads under audio and navigation if you search. Why not just buy a $75 GPS unit or use your phone and get a phone mount? It'll be much cheaper and probably much more up to date.

Because wife said 2 things Has to have navi and has to have back up cam. I know stock navi doesnt have backup can but from what I understand this can be added and also I'm big into car audio and to add a double din into the dash on stock base HU it look really dumb, you have to leave the radio in on the top and install it below the base radio ya cant do that my OCD would go ape sh*$. Any idea on how much this would be? Under 1K over 1K?

would I just not install this?.... Acura TL Radio & Navigation GPS Display Screen 39100-SEP-A500 -- 07 08 2007 2008

I'm guessing more involved then that life usually is. I am trying to find this info in audio but for some reason I cant find it. I see to upgrade non base 2004-2006 to non navi 2007-2008 but nothing non navi to stock navi.

You might need the antenna with it too but I'm not too sure I'm pretty sure you needed that also to upgrade to navi on the Dodge Caravans if I remember correctly. Maybe message that guy that has one for sale and see what he says and check out some parts diagrams from a site like this that might help you with some info. https://www.acurapartswarehouse.com

that makes sense. I can't really search for them now but but I remember seeing some threads a few months ago If I recall correctly, you had to run wiring and also buy the nav trunk unit and there was other stuff. I believe members have moved the HVAC up to the clock area and then installed a double din where the screen is.

Only other suggestion I could think of is to buy an aftermarket rear view mirror or gps unit that can add a rear view camera. It would still be work but I don't think as much as adding navi to a non-navi car.

Sorry, I haven't done any of these electronic mods so my knowledge is limited. But I'm sure other members might be able to provide more help though.

Welcome again Chase.

The best way to search on this site is to go on google and then type in what you're searching for

in this case it would be a "non-navi to nav conversion". Add "site:acurazine.com" to the search and you'll get posts limited to just this site. This topic has been discussed multiple times and there are have been tons of helpful posts on it already
